Wordless Wednesday 179: Buckeyes

Photographed 15, May 2015, Longenecker Horticultural Gardens -- if you walk past the magnolia and lilacs at front of the gardens, you may be pleasantly surprised at what else can be found there. For example, there are several variety of buckeye trees with beautiful spring blossoms.

Oh, thanks for this post Heather! Earlier this spring, I found two volunteers of some type of Buckeye in my garden, probably planted by a critter visitor. ;-) So, I potted up one of them and it seems to be growing pretty well. No blooms this year, so I'll have to wait until next year to ID it. My understanding is that hummingbirds love Buckeyes. I'm adding more and more plants for my favorite garden visitors.

Beth: Glad you liked! I didn't see any hummers the day I photographed these, but that doesn't mean they weren't there. Of course, I was more interested in watching the turkey courtship, than I was the skies for various avian visitors. I wish you luck with nature's presents! ☺
