Thursday Thirteen 130: What's in My Fridge

I'm feeling completely uninspired this week, so...I thought I'd go with the mundane "what's in my fridge." Considering how sparse it's looking these days, this list was all too easy.

+ Gallon of 1% milk (skim is too watery)
+ Two cartons of juice: Apple and a Dole juice blend (orange strawberry banana)
+ Leftover pizza from last Friday - this needs to be thrown out, but I don't want it to smell up the house
+ Butter
+ Eggs
+ Apples - LOTS of apples. See Sunday's post.
+ Potatoes - is there a more versatile food? You can fry it, bake it, boil it, broil it, mash it...there are so many different ways to cook it!
+ Bacon - I don't often buy it, but was really hankering for some lately. I think it's the chilly fall weather.
+ Cheese - cheddar and American
+ Pork chop - thawing for Thursday night's dinner
+ Pickles - half a jar. For some reason, I only seem to eat them in summer
+ Ketchup
+ Sundae toppings - three kinds (fudge, caramel, strawberry - the latter is GREAT on pancakes and waffles)

Bonus: A bottle of wine - received as a gift that I have yet to open

  8. Your fridge might be a bit sparse, but it sure made me hungry!! (at least it made me want a bakes potato and a sundae!)

    Happy T13!

  9. Alice - *Blinking* I'm supposed to do something with them?! Thankfully, I did not end up with the entire 10 pounds of apples, maybe about two pounds. I enjoyed one of the galas with hot fudge topping last night. *VBG*

  10. Tracie - LOL... A baked potato (with cheddar cheese!) and a sundae sounds like a good dinner to me. I could probably scare up some frozen broccoli, too. Thanks for visiting!

  11. You keep potatoes in the fridge? I thought that made them go green?

I could do with the sundae toppings in my fridge. :)

  12. My fridge is like yours - it tends to empty out at the end of the week. Judging from some of the other posts, this must be a good thing! LOL!

    Happy TT!
    Ciao for now!

  13. Ugh, the stuff in your fridge reminds me I have to do shopping. I'm low on milk, out of eggs and only a half gallon of juice left. I'm sure there's something growing fur in the back, but I'm pretty sure it's not a puppy. ;)

    Happy T13!

  14. I wish I had some of that leftover pizza, even if it is old. LOL Happy Thursday! *Hugs*

  15. Great post. Now you have me thinking about what's in my fridge.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't want to even think about what is in my fridge right now.

  17. I agree that skim milk is too watery. I too have tons of apples, and I really need to do something with them. If only there were more hours in the day!

  18. I should do a list on what's in the back of your fridge...if I can recognize it!

  19. My fridge needs to be cleaned out and organized and you know, have food in it. And I agree with your thoughts regarding skim milk.

  20. I'm not looking in my fridge. It's too scary.
    Great TT.
I'm with Ella. I didn't know you kept your potatoes in the fridge.

  21. I have apples in my fridge - but they've been processed and are awaiting canning. I made apple butter and apple sauce from mine :)

  22. Shelley - Our family has always kept them in a crisper drawer and I've never known them to turn green. Potatoes like a cool, dry environment, so we put paper towels at bottom of the drawer to collect any moisture.

Ms M - Yeah, but you have growing children, LOL.

Chris - Eww...I don't wanna know what's growing at the back of your fridge, lol.

Steaphanie - It's all yours! *VBG*

  23. BrendaND - I hope there's something good in there!

Inez - Hehe...time to clean that thing out?

Dawn - Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds skim too watery. I know it's supposed to be healthier and all, but ugh! If I want water, I'll turn on a fawcet.

Colleen - I'll look forawrd to your list. And knowing your awesome lists of randomness, it'll be a funny one!

  24. Cool! We've got some of that stuff!

    *hugs*

  25. Interesting ;--)
It would take a list much longer than 13 to tell what's in MY fridge. Like others who have commented, mine's in need of cleaning ... seriously. Thanks for visiting my '13' at Happily Retired Gal. Hope you 'snagged the award' to enjoy and share with others.

I can hardly believe it, but I'm celebrating my 2nd Blogoversary at Small Reflections today and I'd like to invite you to visit when time permits. I've reflected on what I've learned in the past two years and created mega-collages of some of my favorite mosaics ... just because ;--)
    Hugs and blessings,

  26. Paige - If nothing else, my fridge usually has the basic staples -- milk, butter, juice...LOL

  27. I'm jealous! LOL My fridge consists of a half empty carton of half and half, two types of jelly, some margerine, some cheese sticks and the three diet cokes my sister left there back in July. lol Oh, and I door full of condiments. (Ketchup, mustard, relish, chocolate syrup, mayo and bbq sauce.)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jana - I love that you consider chocolate syrup a condiment! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. You have more in your fridge than I do in mine. I really need to go food shopping today.

    Happy TT.

  34. Jill - Poor refrigerator!

Yvette - It was goood, too. Slathered on a little barbeque sauce while it was cooking and mmmm.... Hehe.

Jana - Noooo comment. Really. *snicker*

  35. And here I thought for sure you'd be reporting a bushel or two ready to go through the apple sauce masher.
