This was an okay mystery. Not a five-star, but a decent way to pass a weekend—if for no other reason than the cats, Rupert and Isabella, who positively come to life through the author's descriptions. I would probably give the second book in this series, Nine Lives Last Forever (available in June), a try if for no other reason than to catch up with Rupert and Isabella.
Or maybe I just miss having a cat of my own, LOL.

Rupert? What a grand name for a cat! Like you, I'd read a followup just to check in on a critter--in my case a dog. Sometimes it's a break to read something that's not so "weighty."

ReplyDeleteMarg: My cat being a long-haired beasty, I had to administer baths at least twice a year, but never had any problems. She cried a lot, but it was otherwise pretty uneventful. I know other pet owners are not as lucky.

Audrey: It was an easy read, which is why it was so appalling it took me a week to read it. Health issues made concentrating on words difficult last week. I enjoyed many a long HOT bath with this one

Kaye: A book from the POV of a cat might be interesting, but this is not one of them. It is actually first person in the heroine's POV, but her cats feature prominently in her life and the story.
Faye: Isn't that a great cat name? He is a fat, white persian and the name totally fits his personality.

I could use an aunt nearby. So many times I wished I could send them off for a while knowing they'd be back when I was in a better mood. But then, I want to send them off for a few days at a whack, not a few hours.
