Thursday Thirteen 184: To-Do List

The problem with being gone a lot over the holidays, coupled with being sick when you actually are at home, is that the stuff that needs doing has a way of piling up. Thirteen of the 20+ items on this week's to-do list:

1. Laundry
2. Trash out
3. Recycling out
4. Sweep bath and kitchen
5. Mop bath and kitchen (I admit, not something I do every week; they're overdo)
6. Vacuum
7. Scrub vanity, tub, toilet (least favorite chores)
8. Repot monster plant
9. Change bedding (ugh!)
10. Process Christmas and NYE pictures (You know, so vertical pics are actually vertical)
11. Back-up files and burn picture discs for friends/family for last year
12. Cross-stitch for LM (she’s paying me to do it)
13. Cross-stitch for KM’s birthday

Update: Numbers 7 and 9 also now done. I was even feeling ambitious and snaked out the bathroom sink drain. Ick!

  1. Darla: Me too. *Grin* Seriously, while I'm no slob, I can be a real slacker at times, especially after I've been sick.

  2. Clean?

Yeah, I suspect that should be on my list too. Once I've unpacked enough to find the floor again.

  3. Ugh! Laundry. Have I mentioned how much I miss my own washer and dryer since moving to an apt building?
Sigh, good luck crossing things off. Happy T13!

  4. Stop! You're making me tired! LOL I hope you starting feeling better real soon. Don't overdo, okay? *HUGS*

  5. Yep, I've got a few things to do too. With the new year comes the chores we put off during the old year. Work and more work. May you have joy as you go about your tasks.

  6. Well, at least you've gotten *some* of them done, right?

My to-do list looks much the same of course. Ugh.

Take a break sometime, have a drink and know you've got tons of us in your corner, doing the same. ;)

    Happy TT!

  7. Boy, I hate it when stuff gets piled up like that, and it happens ALL the time to me. Good luck getting your list pared down.

  9. I get tired even reading something elses list! That list would take me a week.

  10. I like the birthday cake.
The list....ahhh they overwhelm me, even when they aren't mine.

  11. Good luck! *Slink off to do her own laundry and such*

    Happy TT,

  13. Alice: See, one thing I can't stand is not being able to see the floor.

Adelle: I don't mind having to walk up and down stairs to do laundry, or sharing the machines, but I swear dirty clothes are self-replicating.

Stephanie: Thank you. I am feeling better, just get tired easily yet. Gotta love the flu...it visits you for two days and lays you low for two weeks. :-\

  14. Brenda: Joy. Hmmm...right. lol

Kimberly: Yes, I've been trying to cross at least one thing off the list each day.

Maddy: I'm usually the clean-as-you-go type, but when you're sick...well, then it's usually better to let things go a bit.

  15. Harriet: Thanks, LOL.

Colleen: Yes, it will take me at least a week to catch up on all the cleaning, especially since I don't want to overdo and end up sick again. The craft projects will take a little longer--something to do while watching the playoffs.

Madison: The cake did turn out well, didn't it? Reading other peoples' to-do lists always tires me out, too. Especially when they mirror my own, LOL.

  16. Xakara: LOL...sorry if I made you feel a little guilty. *g*

Paige: Uh-huh! And I didn't even mention that I already managed to get the Christmas tree and decorations down and put away. Did that while watching the football game on Sunday. At least they come down a lot faster than they seem to go up!

  17. I think I got most of my cleaning done right after new years, but I need to address the picture files! Thanks for the reminder.

  18. Oh, bless you. My big to-do is the mountain of laundry that seems to have appeared!

  19. Forgetfulone: Happy to remind you of a task that needs doing. Don't forget to back up all your files while you're at it!

Lynn: Doesn't it seem like laundry is never-ending? You finally get caught up only to find another pile has magically appeared!

  20. You're making me feel lazy. I really need to attack the ironing pile.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Shelley: Ironing is something I never - okay, rarely - do. Most of my clothes are wash and wear, for good reason. LOL

  22. Go you! That is an ambitious list! Good luck with it.

    Happy TT!

  23. Ewwww. I don't like anything on this list. LOL!
    You're doing awesome.

  24. Great list! I have half of those to do twice a week for a job, plus for myself. I hate cleaning, lol.

And your list reminds me...I need to add repotting a plant..or three..to my list.

Great TT! Good luck getting them all done!

  25. You don't need those vertical pictures vertical, make the kids turn their heads.

    Happy new year!

  26. Wow what a list....Looks like you need some help.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow, Heather. I'm tired just reading all that. Congrats on the things you've completed and way to go for keeping the others on your list and not saying 'Next week' like I probably would. LOL

Thanks for the post and Happy TT!

  28. Gosh, what a lot to do! I hope you get it all done, and I also hope you are feeling better.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well, that sounds like a very housekeeping type list you have going there. Hope you get to work some fun stuff in around it! Some writing maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Kandyblossom: Thanks, it is a bit ambitious, but I haven't done too bad so far.

Jennifer: Not a fan of housework, huh? LOL

Lanie: As much as I hate cleaning for myself, I couldn't imagine doing it for someone else. Hope you get those plants repotted!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Journeywoman: *I* need those vertical pictures vertical, LOL - plus, I am deleting any bad ones and fixing those that need adjustments (like getting rid of red-eye, shudder).

Savannah: The joys of being single... :-\

KS: Thanks. There will be a couple carried over, like the cross-stitch projects, but at least I've gotten a start on them.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anita: Thank you--aside from still a bit tired, I am feeling better, and slowly getting stuff done.

Bratty: Yes, I have taken a few breaks for "fun" stuff. *G*
