Thursday Thirteen 224: Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween, everyone! For your viewing pleasure this week, I thought I might share a few of the Halloween decorations up around my neighborhood. While most houses feature no more than a pumpkin or jack-o-lantern or two, others go all out this time of year—as you will see below.
I love this display of multi-colored trick-or-treat pumpkins.

Halloween really is so big in the US. I actually enjoy looking at the photos. My fave on your list is the third. The side yard grave is creative too. The last shots are a lot of fun to observe. I noticed "Dracula" too :) Fun fun T13!
ReplyDeleteHazel: Yes, Halloween is certainly big here in the US. I'm glad you had fun looking at my photos! I didn't notice the spelling on the sign when I took the picture (too far back), but noticed it right away once it was uploaded to my computer. LOL

ReplyDeleteYou don't see hardly any of that where I live. I remember going to this house and a guy dressed as Frankenstein ran down the driveway with a leaf blower. Scared the bejeesus out of us. I think we went back to that house ten times that night lol

ReplyDeleteShelley: Thanks! Some people really go all out with their yards or porches. You can walk down one street and find a ton of decorations, then see hardly anything on the next block over.

ReplyDeleteFolks around here don't go out so much for Halloween. We're more into "Fall" or "Harvest" decorations that can stay up through Thanksgiving. Also, this being the Bible Belt, Halloween as a "holiday" isn't as big. We have Harvest Festivals and Pumpkin Palooza instead of Haunted Houses and spooky events.
I miss the old days when Halloween and spooky stuff weren't so frowned upon. We had some awesome haunted houses and ghostly trails at our church when I was a kid. Really miss all that.

ReplyDeleteThere are only a couple of houses around here that put up decorations, but they went all out. We haven't yet because I'm still trying to paint the house.
ReplyDeleteI really miss all of the displays back in the Midwest. I'm sure there are neighborhoods here in New Mexico that go all out, I just don't live in one.
