Skywatch Friday 19

Last Friday, we awoke to dense fog. Though it lightned up a bit midday, it thickened again just in time for the commute home, and did not start to burn off until after dark. Here are some of the photos taken that day.

It wasn't too bad inside city limits, with 1/4 to 1/2 mile visibilty during the worst of it.

The fog shrouded Dunn's Marsh -- the pond is usually visible from the road.

It was much worse outside the city, especially in low-lying areas.

There's a barn back there -- really.

It was difficult to see oncoming vehicles. At least this driver was
smart enough to turn his lights on -- we saw too many that didn't.

  2. Even though it made for lovely pictures I hope you see less of the fog in the season.

  5. Ugh. I hate, hate HATE driving in fog that thick. *shudders* I like to be able to SEE where I'm going.

    Love the pics, though. :-D

  6. Thanks, Lea!

Mridula: Thankfully, we don't get fog this dense too often, but we'll probably see a couple more days like this before spring arrives.

  8. Optimistic: I like foggy mornings better when I don't have to be on the roads - the number of idiots out there seems to grow exponentially in bad weather.

  9. Jana: I like seeing where I'm going, too. When visibilty is a quarter mile or less, I'd rather not be on the roads.

  10. Hope the fog did not linger, I would feel feel quite melancholic.

  13. Serline: The fog lingered throughout the day, sometimes lighter, sometimes denser, and did not lift until around 7 or 8 o'clock that night. Thankfully, we have not had more during the past week.
