  12. Beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen that flower. We just moved into a new house in December so this spring it has been interesting to see what is sprouting up around the house.

  20. Fascinating flower! Does wishing on them work like real shooting stars?

  21. Chris: I moved a couple years ago, so I know how interesting it can be to see what comes up in your new surroundings.

Colleen: Projectile? Nah...just a bit different than the norm.

Melanie: I love it's unusual shape, and it's so pretty in the meadow.

Deborah: Glad to introduce you to this flower. :)

    Amanda: Aren't they pretty? ☺

  22. TesWisGirl: Thank you - definitely something more common to Wisconsin than Texas. *G*

    Prisca: Thank you.

Frauke: These are Eastern Shooting-Stars, a spring wildflower common in the east and midwest states of Northern United States, and can be found in dry to slightly moist prairies, bluffs, oak savannas or lightly wooded areas. They like sun to medium shade and have no scent or nectar.
