Wordless Wednesday 150: Frost Asters

I've been seeing a lot of these lovely white frost asters this year, which bloom into mid-October. I especially like the way they look in amongst the drying white vervain (first photo), and the way they stand out against the reddening leaves of sumac.

  1. So pretty! I love asters of all kinds. I think we're going to have an early winter. :(

  2. Thanks, Beth! I love seeing all of the asters, but these seem to be more abundant than previous years. I hope we don't have an early winter, nor one as bad as last year. I did not like those days of negative highs we had earlier this year. :-(

  3. Asters are beautiful. I especially like them because they are bit different, and that can be a good thing.

  4. Aren't they just? I love how they appear when all other foliage is dying out.

  5. These really tickle my fancy. I love the red background that brings out the reddish center of some.

  6. Colleen: Don't they just POP against the red sumac leaves? ☺

  7. Alice: Haha -- and that could be changing before long. So long Indian Summer, hello chilly autumn weather. Didn't even get above 50 here today. :-/
