Erskine Covered Bridge; Pennsylvania
Straddling the Middle Wheeling Creek, the Erskine Bridge is the oldest in Washington County, as well as the farthest west in Pennsylvania, a mere tenth of a mile from the West Virginia border. Built in 1845, it has survived area strip mining and the floods of 1888. The bridge has vertical plank siding and rests on stone-and-mortar abutments that have been reinforced with concrete and heavy timbers resting in the streambed.
Another lovely photo. You should think about putting your lovely bridge photos in a coffee table book or reproducing and selling them. You could make a killing. :-)
