I'm betting this tree really looks spooky on a cloudy night with a full moon. We'll just have to imagine it since I am not going in the Arboretum alone at night. Nuh-uh...not gonna happen!
I'm not so much afraid of the deer, but I should think the presence of fox and coyote would be good enough reason to avoid a nature preserve in the dark. But hey, that's just me. ; )
We had mountain lions on the land when I was a kid. My grandfather was always trying to keep me indoors at night because of them. The few times I came even half way close to seeing one I mostly just heard it. I thought it was a calf who lost his mother.
Much as I like cats...I'm glad I don't have to worry about those here. I saw one cross the highway in front of us once in Louisiana and that was close enough for me.
nice shot, love the stark contrast of the tree against the sky
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kaye. This is now amongst my favorite recent pics. *g*
ReplyDeleteWhat? Just because there are foxes and deer and stuff?

ReplyDeleteOh, and raccoons. I'm sure there are plenty of those in there as well.
