This week I am teasing from a book I've recently finished, Home for the Homicide by Jennie Bentley. I have teased previous books in this series here, here, and here.
The front door opened with that long, drawn-out shriek of rusty hinges familiar from scary movies. I hadn't really noticed it during the day--possibly because the door had been standing open most of the time--but now it sent a chill down my spine.

ReplyDeleteI still vividly remember driving past a barn on my way to work. It was brand new. One of those sheering winds came along and scattered it across the highway. Poor farmer.
