I love the different looks of the sky when there's a storm approaching. Lovely shots.

Thanks, Lea! We had a storm rumble through early Thursday morning, and then had a couple more come through last night. The rain was coming down so hard it turned some local streets into ponds and rivers. We really needed the rain!
Reminds me of the last time I was there. I could swear the clouds were just waiting for me to grab my camera to unleash.

Alice: It's cloudy and cold here today. Looks and feels like it wants to rain, though it isn't supposed to. Fall is definitely moving in!
Greg: I love living by so many lakes, but I doubt there are many people out today, as the water is cold and choppy. Makes for great photo ops, though. : D
We're feeling it here, too. Most of the smoke has thinned out, but this year the Forest Service seems to have made dint. Still, I'm sure the cold rains have helped. Not so many lightning strikes either. Fall tends to be cold and wet around here anyway.
Alice: It's good the smoke/fires in your area haven't been as bad this year. We only had one wildfire here this year that I know of, and that was way up north this past spring.
This year it was Idaho that got hit hard. They had to evacuate a few towns. Then again, we had a fire start up a little south of town that looked like it would be real bad. It burnt down a few homes, but could have been a lot worse.
Yes, California and Idaho seemed to be the worst hit this year.
California always gets nailed. With so many people around, it's hard for them not to see someone burned out and/or evacuated.
Most wildfires being sparked by lightning, it really makes you mad when one as large and devastating as the "Rim" fire (near Yosemite) is started by one person's carelessnees and ignoring of the law (ie: inattention to an illegal campfire).
