This week I am finishing an excellent rom-suspense, Saint's Gate, by Carla Neggers. Will definitely be continuing this series!
The door was kicked shut, the sharp thrust throwing her off balance. She stumbled, the key flying out of her hand as she lurched forward against the hard oak door.
(Chapter 2)

"We don't keep it locked but it should be shut tight." She swung the vault door open wider, stopping abruptly when she saw the mess inside—boxes upended, files strewn on the floor, old canvases shoved aside. "Someone's been in here—"
"Hold on." Colin touched her arm. "Don't move."
(Chapter 14)
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Two people, isolated by their pasts. An obsessive killer who will force them together. Welcome to Saint's Gate.
Emma Sharpe is summoned to a Maine convent, partly for her FBI art crimes work, partly because of her past with the Order. At issue is a mysterious painting of Irish lore and Viking legends. But when the nun who contacted her is murdered, it seems legend is becoming deadly reality.
Colin Donovan is one of the FBI's most valuable deep-cover agents. Back home in Maine after his latest mission, a contact clues him in to an intrigue of murder, international art heists and long-held secrets that is too tempting to resist. As danger spirals ever closer, Colin is certain of only one thing—Emma Sharpe is at the center of it all.

Saint's Gate sounds like something I would like. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, I'd say someone's been in there.
Very suspenseful teasers! Here is my teaser for this week.
Hi Heather,
Carla Neggars is a new author to me, but having checked out her website and seen just what a prolific writer she is, it looks as though I have some catching up to do, as her books sound like great reads.
I wonder if Colin has seen something that she hasn't, or if he is just being cautious?
Great lines this week, thanks for featuring the book and sharing such a good sounding author.
Yvonne
Sounds really tempting! Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
Lit Feline: If you like romantic suspense, do check this one out. It's the first in a series, and -- I think -- a good intro to the author's writing.
Alice: Uh-huh...and they left more than a mess behind. ;)
Beth Starr: Thank you, and thanks for stopping by!
Yvonne: Neggers is a relatively new-to-me author as well, and I have amassed quite a few of her books in Mount TBR thanks to local used book sales. I look forward to reading more of her!
As for Colin...yup, he definitely saw something Emma didn't. ☺
Hi Laurel-Rain! Glad to have tempted you. If you like a good suspense, I highly recommend this one! :)
That looks good, sounds like a fun story. A little romance and suspense always go well together. :) The second teaser makes me wonder if they're still there...
Thanks, Greg! Romance and suspense certainly go well together--especially when doen so well that the romance is a part of the suspenseful story, but not the main focus.
I would enjoy this one. I usually enjoy this author's books. This sounds good.
Knowing your reading preferences, it must have been a dead body. ;)
Great Tease!! Sounds like a fascinating story, with a new(to me) author! Thanks for sharing, and thanks for stopping by SunnyReads!
Yvonne: Oh, someone who has read other works by this author. Feel free to offer recommendations!
Alice: HA! You would be wrong . . . this time. *G*
Sunny: It was an interesting story -- the art theft angle had me hooked, and there were other aspects of the story that intrigued me as well. I had to google a couple things after reading. *G*
Uh-oh! Is someone still in there?!
Thanks for visiting my Tuesday post!
To comment back on your comment regarding Charlaine Harris' series, it's not that I totally hated the ending. In my rambling on my "worst" picks I basically say how I only wanted more after the ending. It wasn't that I hated the book or the series after all was said and done. I was just left with a desperate feeling to need more. I guess these books are ones that can be said to have open-ended endings and I don't usually like that when there still are so many questions yet to be answered.
Although, I do plan on reading After Dead at some point! I have it preordered but not sure when I will actually get to it, as it won't arrive until early or mid November I believe.
Sorry for the long comment too! I feel the need to explain myself to some people about my particular "worst" choices! Been doing it all day it seems! :)
I hope Colin is a friend, not a foe.
Jesicca: Heh - I'm not telling.
Can't help chuckling over your "rambling" post. I know the ending of some series strikes people in different manners. I know people who totally loved the way that series ended, others who hated it. Based on comments made by the author herself some years ago, I have a feeling I'm not going to be completely satisfied with the end. Really need to read those last two books already, I know. *g*
Gal: Oh, Colin is definitely a friendly. Extremely complex, but friendly - at least in this particular situation. He's not a man one would want to cross. *VBG*
Sounds like this is an intense story! Good Teasers.
My Teaser is from AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.
Thanks, Sandy -- I don't know about intense, but it was fairly fast-paced and a good mystery.
NOW you've got me hooked. :)
MWAHAHAHAHA! :-D
that's a pretty tense teaser!
Great teasers! Love the cover of this one too.
Thanks, Kelley!
Karen and Gerard: Isn't that a beautiful cover? The other books in the series were equally gifted.
