This week I am reading a cozy mystery, A Killer Crop by Sheila Connolly. This is book four in her Orchard series. I've been meaning to catch up on this series for a while now, and the harvest theme of this book is certainly appropriate to the season.
"Hello, Meg? This is Raynard. You need to come home. There's been some trouble."
Chapter 8
ABOUT THE BOOK:
An Orchard Mystery #4
When Meg Corey’s mother arrives unannounced in Granville, Massachusetts, Meg’s sure it’s not just to pay a surprise visit to the apple of her eye. The timing is terrible—it’s harvest season and Meg is understaffed in the orchard. Plus Elizabeth Corey is clearly hiding the real purpose of her trip from her daughter.
After an English professor from Amherst—who is an old friend of her mother—is found dead on the floor of a cider house, Elizabeth is interrogated by the police, and then grilled by her daughter. She is indeed keeping a secret—but could Meg’s own mother really have committed murder? One thing is clear: someone decided to teach the professor a lesson. And the key to unlocking the mystery may lie with a poet who could not stop for death . . .

I've been wanting to read this series for a long time. It looks so good. I hope you are enjoying it. A perfect Autumn book.
Yvonne: I'm about halfway through this one and so far it has been pretty good. I liked the first three books in this series, so no ides why I fell behind in it. Just one of many series I need to catch up on. :-\
Cool choice! I've never read anything in this series, but it looks like fun. Thanks for stopping by My Teasers earlier!
Kerry: Thanks, it is has been a good series so far. I was first attracted to it due to the proximity of a local orchard I frequently pass and have visited with my niece.
That's a good teaser :)
This sounds like a fun cozy.
My Tuesday post features WAR BRIDES.
Sounds like an interesting series. Happy reading!
I love that line: "There's been some trouble."
Thanks for coming by mine at http://wp.me/pZnGI-eS
Thanks, Chippy!
Sandy: Thanks, so far it's been pretty good.
Kathy M: I've learned all sorts of interesting facts about apples/orchards throughout the reading of this series, and it makes we want to visit Massachusetts -- particularly in the fall.
Madame V: Thank you, it seemed like good teaser material to me. ☺
I have another book by this author, so I'm eager to read more of her work. This one sounds good!
Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
That teaser sounds like something of an understatement! Thanks for visiting my TT http://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2014/10/14/teaser-tuesday-october-14/
Some trouble is actually a good way to keep a book going.
Laurel-Rain: I have at least three more books in this series to catch up on, plus books in two other series to read by Connolly, making for some major catch-up. Too many books out there I want to read, and no one willing to pay me to do just that, LOL.
Cleo: Little bit, though not as bad as I was expecting.
Alice: Yup! ☺
Good teaser, but I generally do not like cozy mysteries.
Ooh. Look at that pretty cover. I just love a good cozy. That phone call doesn't sound good though!

Uh- oh- I wonder what the trouble is. This looks like a nice cozy, love the harvest theme.
sounds like a perfect read for the season. Enjoy! Have a nice week! kelley—the road goes ever ever on
K & G: Thank you, and thanks for visiting.
Laura: Isn't that a beautiful seasonal cover? ☺
Greg: Thanks, the harvest theme is one of the things that had me plucking this one out of Mount TBR.
Kelley: Thanks, it has been a good seasonal read so far. Thanks for stopping by!
Perfect really, for a teaser!
My teaser
Emily Dickinson?? Wondering if the trouble is the beginning of the murder mystery. Sounds like this book will be an intriguing and interesting one. :)
Great teaser! Although, a telephone call such as this one is never a good feeling. I remember making calls such as these to my momma when I was a teen :D
Thanks, Duncan!
Tracy: So far the Z"trouble" seems more coincidence than anything having to do with the mystery. Almost done, so we shall see. ;)
Claudia: No, definitely not the sort of call one wants to get. Thanks for visiting!
