Medallion responds
Popped over to Alison Kent's blog this morning and saw that she had posted a link to Kate Rothwell's blog yesterday, where a letter from Medallion is posted regarding their no longer being "recognized" by RWA. It was announced last week that several publishers have lost RWA recognition, though [valid] reasons were not supplied. I'm suddenly very glad NOT to be a member of RWA. Let the backlash begin!

Kind of dissillusions the whole RWA thing, doesn't it. Seems I've heard plenty of negative things about them this year...and too, the LACK of things I've heard from folks who normally are very vocal speaks volumes as well. Glad I never got around to applying for membership...
Did you see Debra Dixon's comment on the matter?
Oddly enough, being published by an RWA recognized publisher just doesn't seem as important to me as just being published.
The more and more I see happening with the RWA, the less I want to join. I wasn't aware of much before I started blogging either, so I'm glad I was informed before paying out the bucks.
