Thursday Thirteen 408: Birthday Review
For lack of time or other ideas this week -- what I received for my birthday:
01. Cricut Explore One -- For the non-crafters, this is a die-cut machine. You can buy a variety of dies, or -- with the version I have -- you can go online to their website. You can use cardstock, vinyl or even fabric for your designs.
02. DVD -- Ever After (replaces favorite movie on VHS)
03. DVD -- The Christmas Card
04. Small Box of Chocolates (truffles)
05. Bag of Ghirardelli -- Dark Chocolate Raspberry
06. Christmas Cross-stitch Ornament Kit -- and yes, people already picked which one they want, LOL.
07. Gift Card for Cheesecake Factory
08. Gift Card for Barnes & Noble
09. Kindle Fire Tablet
10. Gift Card for Amazon
11. A Mickey Mouse watch -- the band on the one I usually wore to work broke the week before my birthday.
12. Dinner and dessert (Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake)
13. Mystery gift -- a friend left me a present at another friend's home, but friend forgot to bring it

Fall Birthday Collection
A few fall birthday cards for the ladies . . .
I love this stamp, and have one more in that series ("Reese") -- I didn't discover them until they were on clearance, so missed getting others that went with them. Greeting on the inside is from Endless Creations and says, "Happy Birthday / Hoping this greeting finds you celebrating in style!"
Stamps: Julia (Stampendous)
Paper: DCWV, Recollections
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Colored pencils, blender pen, oval punches (Marvy), Computer printed gretting, Word Window punch (Stampin' Up)

Birthday cake, anyone?
A friend's son baked me a birthday cake this weekend. Yes, an 18-year-old boy who not only knows how, but actually likes to cook and bake.
Last year he made me a Boston Cream Cake, which was okay. I must confess, I much prefer this year's offering, triple chocolate—it's Double Dutch Chocolate with mini chocolate chips and chocolate frosting. In other words, a chocoholic's dream.
Who's up for a slice?

{Birthday Sentiments} card set
This is a set of ten birthday cards made for my own use. The stamps are a clear set I have not used much and are from one of my favorite companies, Inkadinkado. I tried to use coordinating paper scraps with a vintage look for these cards. Most of the images are popped up with dimensionals. The colors and style make them ideal for male or female, and though some are similar, they are all different. Click on any photo for a better view.
MATERIALS
Stamps: Birthday Sentiments (Inkadinkado)
Paper: Wausaus Paper (white), DCWV (some designer paper), Assorted paper scraps
Ink: Basic Black (Stampin' Up)
Accessories: Brads, Dimensionals, Scalloped Edge border punch (Stampin' Up), Unknown border punch*
* I have no idea how I acquired this punch...whether a friend gave it to me as a gift or I purchased it on my own. There is no company name on the punch, which is unusual, and is making it difficult for me to find the name of the punch. I am fairly certain it is not from Stampin' Up, as their name is printed prominently on other punches I have by them. I do not think it is by Fiskars, as their name is on other products of their I own. It does not look like a Martha Stewart. Hindsight being what it is, I should have checked for company/product name when i opened it, and made my own label when I found none on it.

Sea-faring Birthday Cards
A set of cards made one evening earlier this month, for upcoming birthdays. I stamped these images a couple years ago, and have been trying to use some of them up--not always an easy task.
The first two cards are a variation of SC367, a recent sketch challenge at SCS.

Card number three more clsoely fits SC367:

Card number for is another slight variation:

And card five started out following the sketch, but the image panel was too big, so another (slight) variation on a theme:

MATERIALS
Stamps: Pelican (Calm Seas, Stampin' Up); Three boats (Set Sail, SU); Tall Sailboat (Winds of Grace, SU); Let's Celebrate (On Your Birthday, SU)
Paper: White (Wausau Paper), Patterned (DCWV)
Ink: Night of Navy (SU)
Accessories: Brads, Rub-ons (birthday greetings), square punches (Marvy)

CAS Birthday Cards
Here are a couple of quick CAS (clean and simple) birthday cards I threw together Sunday night while watching (listening to) the Grammy Awards. As you can see, there is no stamping on either of these, mostly just a few paper scraps and some dimensional stickers.
I apologize for such dark photos. There's a reason I usually try to photograph my creations during the morning, when there is natural light coming in the windows. Alas, I wanted to get these out in the mail, so could not wait to photograph them in the morning. If I had, I would have forgotten to do it, and then they would have been even later going out than they already are.

PAPER: Kraft, assorted paper scraps
ACCESSORIES: Dimensional stickers (unknown company), grosgrain ribbon

Birthday w/ Gift Card Enclosure
This is a card we made at a Stampin' Up workshop a couple weeks ago (the same day we made the sympathy card, posted previously. The front flap is folded back, a slot punched to insert the gift card, and then the flap is adhered along the open three edges. Gift card tucks behind the greeting panel adhered to folded back flap. Looks complicated, but is really easy peasy to make.
