For lack of time or other ideas this week -- what I received for my birthday:
01. Cricut Explore One -- For the non-crafters, this is a die-cut machine. You can buy a variety of dies, or -- with the version I have -- you can go online to their website. You can use cardstock, vinyl or even fabric for your designs.
02. DVD -- Ever After (replaces favorite movie on VHS)
03. DVD -- The Christmas Card
04. Small Box of Chocolates (truffles)
05. Bag of Ghirardelli -- Dark Chocolate Raspberry
06. Christmas Cross-stitch Ornament Kit -- and yes, people already picked which one they want, LOL.
07. Gift Card for Cheesecake Factory
08. Gift Card for Barnes & Noble
09. Kindle Fire Tablet
10. Gift Card for Amazon
11. A Mickey Mouse watch -- the band on the one I usually wore to work broke the week before my birthday.
12. Dinner and dessert (Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake)
13. Mystery gift -- a friend left me a present at another friend's home, but friend forgot to bring it

Wow! Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday!
Wishing you many more birthdays!
Lea
Thanks, Lea - it was pretty good. :)
Wow! I never get half that much. Someone likes chocolate, eh? Must have been a party. Happy Birthday!
Colleen: Gotta have chocolate, especially if it's dark. And not really a party, but dinner with friends, and I actually got two gifts before then (the Cricut, from my sister, and the watch -- which was from a coworker, and there was a story behind it).
Happy birthday! It sounds like you were the winner in the gifts! Good for you. I am glad you have so many friends. Enjoy your Kindle Fire - I certainly like mine.
Thanks, Anita. I have been slowly finding my way around the Kindle Fire.
exactly! you had a good haul on your birthday! I m a holdout on getting a kindle tho lol
Thanks, Jennifer. I admit, I still prefer real books whenever possible, but you can pick up a lot of free books for ereaders, especially classics.
Nice haul. All I got for my birthday was a couple of dishes, some cloth napkins, an Amazon gift card and a tiny bit o' money. Everyone down here is tapped out these days and my friends and I don't really exchange birthday gifts.
I'm considering getting a Kindle (maybe a plain ereader) for the sheer fact that I dislike so many of the books I read these days that I don't want to keep them but I hate having to pack them up to get rid of them. It would be so much easier to just delete from an ereader. haha
Sorry you didn't have a more exciting birthday. I have to be honest, so far I'm liking the setup of my Nook library more than that of the Kindle, but that's just me. On the other hand, there are A LOT more free books available for Kindle than Nook, especially for classics. I also like that I can change a page on the Nook with the same hand with which I'm holding it, instead of having to swipe as you do with the Kindle. Readability is about the same for both.
