Triple the challenge, triple the fun?

This is another pair of cards made last weekend for the limited supply challenge, LSC248, which was to make multiple cards using the same materials but different layouts. For this duo I used the sketches from a couple older challenges not yet done. The card on the left fits SC254, the one on the right SC255.

We had our first measurable snowfall here Thursday night, which means people in my building have again turned into inconsiderate morons, stomping outside my apartment at all hours of the day and night. It's especially bad between 5 and 7pm, when people are getting home for the day. Talk about grating on someone's nerves! And it's not like we even had that much snow, though this side of town had more than they did on the north side (the airport measured only .7, but it was more like 2 inches here).

And, of course, get a little snow and the Beltline turns onto a parking lot. I was soooo glad I wasn't in that traffic snarl Thursday night. There is more snow expected over the next three days, about 1-3 inches, and I am feeling it in my neck, which is all too susceptible to the cold temps. It doesn't exactly motivate you to get things done.

Tis the Season to be Freezin'

A couple cards to share today, made over the weekend to fit last Friday's Limited Supply Challenge, LSC248, at SCS. The challenge was to make multiple cards using the same materials but different layouts. I love these cute little snowmen from Studio G. They made digging through the dollar bin at Wisconsin Craft market worth the effort. Though it might be difficult to tell, there is white ink sponged across the top of the punched snowflakes.

Stamps: Studio G
Paper: Wausau Paper Co (solids), DCWV (patterned)
Ink: Night of Navy, Craft White (Stampin' Up)
Accessories: Snowflake Punch (Marvy), Grosgrain Ribbon (JoAnn), Brads, Colored Pencils

SC241

Another card for Halloween, this one fitting the SCS sketch challenge SC241 from a few weeks ago. I had these cat and pumpkins images stamped and colored and my mind immediately wandered back to this challenge I had not yet done.

Holiday Cheer

Here is this year's Christmas card -- or at least, the one most people received from me. I churned out about 60 of these, but younger recipients and a few others received Santa cards instead. There were also about a dozen people who received snowman cards. As always, you can click on the images for a larger view. Merry Christmas!

SC200

"To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake,
it is necessary to stand out in the cold.
~Anonymous

-1. Shall I repeat that? -1. That was this morning's temperature when I left for work. With the windchill it felt closer to -18, and the high is only supposed to be 6 above. I just had to mention that, if for no other reason than to make my Southern friends feel sorry for me. (Hey! I heard that guffaw, Jana!) Seriously, when did I teleport to the Arctic Circle? I swear there were penguins ice skating in our parking lot this morning.

This is o
ne of the weekend's creations, made during a holiday movie marathon.

I was trying to use up some odd bits and pieces already stamped/leftover from other projects made the past few months. This card fits the SCS Sketch challenge, SC200, from a few weeks ago. The snowflake is stamped in Night of Navy ink (SU) and is from Studio G. It is punched out with a Marvy jumbo square punch, then mounted on a slightly larger square of blue. Ribbon is from Michael's, patterned blue on bottom of card from a DCWV Christmas paper stack. According to local meteorologists, we will see more snowflakes Tuesday night, possibly 3-5 inches worth to make up all that melted over the weekend. Joy to our world...

Studio G Thanksgiving

Look at all those cards!

Here's a close-up.

This was an easy weekend project, done during the course of a football game or 4-hour movie marathon. The beauty of mass production is that, when you have a design in mind, they go pretty fast. Much faster than creating individual cards. I did these in stages:

Stage 1 - Cut and fold white cardstock for backs.
Stage 2 - Cut coordinating sheets of designer paper (three sheets each style) and adhere to card fronts.
Stage 3 - Add ribbon.
Stage 4 - Stamp images, color leaves, punch out and adhere to punched scalloped circles.
Stage 5 - adhere images to card front and stamp greeting on inside.

Ho Ho Ho

I'm off to the annual Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo with friends this morning -- who knows what neat new toys I might come home with. The nice thing about this event held each year teh weekend before Thanksgiving is the presence of companies whose products are not found at our local craft shops (of which there are plenty). Always fun to see what's new and check out the demonstrations, too. Hopefully we won't go too crazy with the credit cards! ;-]

Here are a few recent card creations -- there will be plenty more posted during the coming weeks as I have been on a Christmas card making binge.

Trick or Treat

Hard to believe that Halloween is a little more than a month away! Here is one of the many cards I've been working on the past couple of weeks. The stamps are by Studio G, paper from DCWV (fall stack). I used my Le Plume II markers to color Frank. Other accessories include Basic Black ink from SU, polka dot ribbon from Joann's and the 1-1/4 and 1-3/8 circle punches.
