Misc. Cards

Every year, I make up a set of cards for a friend, which she and her mother use for her father's church (for themselves or for others to use). I do up a bunch of similar designs, usually 30-50 cards, and try to use up some of the odds and ends leftover from other projects. Here is a selection of cards made for her this year. I was a bit limited as I was out of my standard white invitation envelopes, so had to use card bases from a set received as a gift several years ago (original packaging long gone). Most of the greetings were printed on the computer, with the exception of some "Happy Birthday" stamps from Stampin' Up's "Sincere Greetings" set. Patterned paper is from DCWV

SC496 Cards

I spent some time this weekend making cards, as my supply has grown quite small. I used the SCS sketch challenge from a couple weeks ago, SC496, which works quite well for using up various scraps of paper and cardstock.

2013 Christmas Cards

Some of this year's Christmas cards . . .

At end of October, I was contacted by a friend, asking if I could make some cards for her. I readily agreed, and knew immediately that this was my chance to use this large angel stamp from Tin can Mail/Inkadinkado. I came up with the purple design first, then tried it in raspberry, but both needed a little something. For the red, I dug out the Canvas background stamp, which I think looks awesome on kraft cardstock, and Itty Bitty Backgrounds for the purple. Further details are below each card. Click on any image for a larger view.

Stamps: Angels We Have Heard on High (Tin Can Mail/Inkadinkado);

Paper: White, Lap of Luxury (Darice) * Paper Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

Blue Plaid OSW -- 2

Yesterday, I posted several Blue Plaid OSW cards. Here are the rest in that series — this group with a nautical theme.

The template I used was designed by Carol Lovenstein, something I found on Pinterest. Part of the plan with these was to use up a bunch of leftover images and make as many cards as possible — for a variety of uses — in a short amount of time. All paper is from DCWV or Recollections, other details noted for individual cards. Click on any image for a larger view.

Blue Plaid OSW -- 1

Some of you may remember the cards I posted way back at the beginning of October. Most of them were part of a "One Sheet Wonder" set I was working on.

The template I used was designed by Carol Lovenstein, something I found on Pinterest. Part of the plan with these was to use up a bunch of leftover images and make as many cards as possible — for a variety of uses — in a short amount of time. I finally got round to scanning them so I could share. All paper is from DCWV or Recollections, other details noted for individual cards. Click on an image for a larger view.

2012 Christmas Cards -- part 1

Here are a few of the Christmas cards made for this year. A "clean and simple" (CAS) design that made these pretty easy to whip up.

I started by stamping the snowflakes on strips of craft cardstock in navy ink, then punched them out with a one-inch punch. The inchies are popped up using dimensionals.

After punching out the squares, I set them aside for a bit. I took one-inch wide scraps of patterned paper and carefully folded the ends so I could snip off a triangle on each end for the ribbon effect. You have to be careful here not to crease the strip of paper down the center. These were then adhered just above the mid-section of the card. Above that, and off to the left side of the card, I then stamped the greeting, and adhered an inchie snowflake to the right, as pictured.

Next, I stamped a snowflake border about an inch above the card bottom, and then stamped coordinating greetings inside. I made about 60 cards, working on them while watching movies or television, in one week.

Unfortunately, I did not punch enough of the snowflake inchies and had loaned by one-inch square punch to a friend, so was forced to come up with a substitute. Digging through leftovers from past Christmas cards, I found some dimensional stickers.

I also used a different border stamp (from the same set), as the snowflakes just didn't seem to work with the ornaments and presents.

I also used a few diecuts on some cards. They were especially perfect for the few kids on my Christmas card list.

I also used this design to make one Chanukah/Hanukkah card for family friends.

SUPPLIES:

Stamps: Snowflake/Menorah (Hero Arts), Snowflake border/Santa & Sleigh/Scrollwork (Recollections), Greeting (Clear and Simple)
Paper: Craft (Recollections), Patterned Scraps (DCWV)
Ink: Cajun Craze, Elegant Eggplant, Not Quite Navy (Stampin' Up)
Accessories: Dimensionsals, One-inch square punch (Marvy), brads, diecuts (Current Inc), dimensional stickers (Mary Engelbreit)
