Three cards fitting CAS189 -- another SCS sketch challenge -- from a few weeks ago. Wish I had more autumn-themed die cuts to do up some more like these! Maybe I'll try some next month for Christmas.

Thought I would share a couple cards made for the SCS sketch challenge from a couple months ago, SC385. I used paper leftover from another sketch challenge in both.

I used three different stamp sets to create the collage on the image panels.

SC384

It's been a while, so thought I would share a few of the 20 cards I've been working on during the past week. These all fit SC384, last week's SCS sketch challenge. They each use two sheets coordinating patterned paper. Most of these will be used as birthday cards, though a couple may be set aside for sympathy or anniversary.

While watching Season Two of True Blood at a friend's a few weeks ago, I borrowed one of her retired stamp sets from Stampin' Up, Exotic Birds, and stamped up a bunch of the images for later use. They were perfect for some of these cards.

For a few of the cards I dug out some leftover inchies (Inkadinkado) stamped eons ago, which I have been trying to use up. Double matted with scalloped squares, they also worked well with these large florals.

SC365

This is the anniversary card made for friends who were married on New Year's Day 2000. I used last week's SCS sketch challenge (SC365) for this one, turned sideways. The image is from the 2011 Mary Engelbreit Day-to-Day desk calendar, and I was able to use up several paper scraps in its creation.



Accessories: Circle punches from Marvy Uchida and Night of Navy ink from Stampin' Up.

Christmas Cards 5: SC359

Today's Christmas cards use another simple sketch, SC359, from Splitcoast Stampers. The letters in the top card are square stickers, while those in the second were mounted on 1" squares of red cardstock. And have I mentioned how much I love this stamp set from Tim Holtz?

Christmas Cards 4: SC361

This duo was created for last week's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers, SC361. I love this sketch for its simplicity, as well as the fact that it is excellent for using up leftover strips of paper from other projects.

CAS28 -- Masculine Cards

A few cards done up for today's "clean and simple" challenge at SCS, CAS28 -- masculine cards. CAS cards are supposed to be quick and easy cards that feature a lot of white space, few layers and little to no embellishments. I used two sets I haven't used much yet, Pines and Backwoods, both from Stampin' Up. The borders at top of the first two cards were made by alternately stamping a pine bough along a one-inch strip of kraft cardstock. For the moose card, I first stamped the right image in chocolate chip then, without reinking the stamp, stamped the second moose.

SC193 - Get Well

This is a card made for a friend who had surgery Wednesday. I chose a pink palette as that is her favorite color, and I thought the bright pink floral pattern might cheer her up. I used the layout from an older sketch challenge (SC193) that I never got around to doing last fall.

LSC205 (CAS) -- Baby Cards

Our neighbors had twin girls this week, quite a surprise to them as they were not expecting a duo. I decided to use last week's Limited Supply Challenge (Clean and Simple designs) to make a card for them. I made the card at right first, using the retired SU set, Buggies & Booties. I love this set but, alas, have not had much chance to use it. I made the first card, then thought, "Wait...since they had twins, what if I used the shoes stamped twice?" And then it got even more perfect when I was digging through various sets to find an appropriate sentiment and came across the one I used from my Life Cycles set (card below). So, that is the one they will be receiving. The other I will set aside until it is needed.

(Sentiment on top card says, "Babies are bits of stardust blown from the hand of God. ~Larry Barretto" and bottom card says, "Eveything's better with two.")
