Valentine and Other Cards
I needed to beef up my card supply, and went to town using a recent sketch from Splitcoast Stampers, SC526. These were left blank inside so I can stamp greetings (birthday, sympathy, anninversary) as needed. I wish I had more fun buttons or random diecuts like the one on the cat card, although I think I could whip up a bunch of Christmas cards easy-peasy with some diecuts I'm still trying to get rid of.
I also did up a few Valentine cards, using some foam hearts. These are tall skinny cards that measure 3.5" x 6.25".

More 2013 Valentines
The rest of the Valentines made for this year . . .
I made several cards using SC418 from Splitcoast Stampers. This first one uses a sticker greeting (XOXO), and I actually added a white foam heart a couple inches above it, but forgot to take another photo. I used leftover embroidery floss in all of the cards.
Here are more of the cards using sketch SC418. I used rub-on hearts for three of the cards. The top left has a computer-printed greeting, while the other three use greetings from the Hero Arts stamp set, "With all my Heart."
A couple "non-traditional" Valentine cards. I found this layout from PageMaps on Pinterest. It is an excellent way to use up paper scraps. Computer printed greetings were punched out with the Word Window punch from Stampin' Up, and brads were used to jazz 'em up a bit. There is a quote about friendship on the inside of each.
I have been "unofficially" participating in a "100 cards in 100 days" challenge. Unofficially as I forgot to sign up before the challenge started January 1. So far this year I have made 37 . . . which means I am about ten cards behind. Looks like I have some catching up to do in the next week. :-|

A close-up of one of the foursome. I stamped the greetings, then carefully cut around them.

Thursday Thirteen 189: Valentines
If you saw yesterday's post, you know that I spent some time making cards this past Sunday while watching the Super Bowl. It helped keep me calm during the more tense moments of the second half. I admit, there was much screaming and celebrating, especially at end of the game. Here are thirteen Valentines made during the four hours of game time. Click on any image for a larger view.
1. Red speckles stamped on pink background. Die-cut hearts, center one popped up.
2. Stamped and colored image on a 4.25 x 4.25 inch square card. This one is for my youngest niece. Left heart is a die-cut.
3. Thin ribbon wrapped around dark pink panel. Die-cut heart popped up for dimension.
4. Rub-on hearts on white panel, mounted on red, then pink. Pink ribbon behind center panel.
5. More rub-on hearts with a stamped greeting.
6. Die-cut hearts in center, stamped image at bottom right. Wide red ribbon across front.
7. This was a fun one to make. I used an image from my Mary Engelbreit page-a-day calendar that says, "Peace & Love, Baby!" A felt heart and some funky fiber tie it all together.
8. Rub-on hearts with a stamped greeting, and stamped speckled background.
9. Another page of the Mary Engelbreit calendar with felt hearts and flower and 1/4 inch gros grain ribbon.
10. More rub-on hearts. I generally don't like rub-ons because they can be a major pain in the butt, but these were in a kit I received from a friend and I wanted to use them up.
11. This is a square 4.24 x 4.25 inch card. Red speckles were stamped on lighter red cardstock, and a large heart die-cut mounted in center, popped up for dimension.
12. Rub-on hearts with a stamped greeting.
13. 1/4 inch ribbon frames a popped up die-cut heart. Corners decorated with heart-shaped brads. Card is 4.25 x 4.25 inch square.

Valentines
I don't know how, but I somehow managed to whip out a few Valentine cards this week. Now to start thinking about Easter...

There is no stamping on any of these. I used the scalloped square to punch out squares in four shades of red and pink patterned paper, then decorated using stickers, chipboard hearts and flowers, and brads. A strip of ribbon across the bottom finished them off.

Thursday Thirteen 94: Creative Ways to Say I Love You
In honor of Valentine's Day, Thirteen creative ways to say, "I love you."...
1. Write a romantic love letter to mail and decorate with stickers or stamps.
2. Write it on a driveway or sidewalk using chalks.
3. Write it with icing on a heart shaped cake or cookie.
4. Say it in Post-it-notes hidden around the house.
5. Create a keepsake bookmark to tuck in a new book by their favorite author.
6. Engrave it on a locket or inside a ring.
7. Paint words of love on a stone to use as a paper weight, or to decorate a planter or garden path.
8. Write a note to tuck inside someone’s lunch or pocket.
9. Create a journal or scrapbook to record a message, special memories, photos and memorabilia.
10. Write it on a beach in the sand with a stick, or spell it out in small rocks.
11. Stamp, stitch or paint it on a special keepsake like a pillow or quilt.
12. Write your own love song or poem.
13. Write a message with 'glow in the dark' pens or paints. Little kids would love this glowing reminder of love above their bed.

LSC202

A quick card for last week's SCS limited supply challenge, "LSC202 - Don't Break My Heart." The challenge was to use paper that was red or had hearts on it, as well as stamps and accessories that were heart-shaped. You do not want to know how long I searched for these die-cuts. I knew I had half a pacjage leftover from last year, but they were not in the drawer where such items should be. I finally found them packed away in a box of extra scrapbook supplies. *Sigh* So much for last summer's efforts to get more organized!
Stamps: Crazy Love (kimemories), Fancy Flexible Phrases (Stampin' Up)
Paper: DCWV Christmas Stack
Ink: Ruby Red (SU)
Accessories: Smitten die-cut hearts (K&Company)
