Thought I'd post another of my Olbrich pics tonight, a simple orange rose bud. I've always prefered buds to full blossoms, much as the Japanese do in Ikebana. An unopened bud signifies promises to come, containing the energy of life's opening toward the future. Half-open blossoms with "perfect" leaves signify the present. A full bloom or dried leaves symbolizes the past (life that has been spent).
