I grew up reading Trixie Belden and Agatha Christie. Over the years my reading habits have fluctuated, but recently I've returned to my love of mystery/suspense -- often peppered with a bit of romance these days.
I've never consciously wanted to be a writer. A 3rd grade teacher suggested my parents enroll me in a summer writing program, and I ended up participating in 3 or 4 such programs during elementary school. Between 8th and 12th grade I attended four youth writers' conferences, and was a member of the writing club in HS, headed at the time by local young adult writer Jocelyn Riley. I also worked on the arts magazine in HS and college, serving on the editorial board of both, and have a BA in English (writing emphasis) and French.
More recently I've attended local and national writers' conferences, worked for a major publisher for two years, served as editor for a writing group's ezine, and currently spend a lot of time lurking at Romance Divas.
