Happy 4th!

Flags ripple proudly under a lowering sky at Navy Pier, Chicago.

You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.

Ev'ry heart beats true
'Neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

(Music and lyrics by George M. Cohan; click here to hear the music.)

Wishing everyone a Safe and Happy Independence Day!

What a gorgeous sky! Looks as though it's about to storm. So beautiful as a backdrop to the flags. :-)

Hope you had a safe holiday, too. :-)

Those were indeed storm clouds, but thankfully they moved off over the lake instead of drenching the pier with a heavy down pour.

We had a fun day yesterday--sister, BIL, Bug and I went to a Milw. Brewers game. Beautiful weather, 70s with a nice breeze blowing in off the lake, and the team scored 5 runs in the 4th inning and won 5-2. Went to fireworks Sunday night, so stayed in and watched them on TV last night (A Capitol Fourth and Pops Goes the Fourth) while uploading pics to the computer and running maintenance. Oh, and guess who has a new computer coming...?
