Yup...that's my alma mater! The University of Wisconsin at Madison was founded two years later, with the first freshman class beginning February of 1849. I confess I have not been back to the campus in some years, and with all the building and reconstruction that has taken place the past decade, I probably wouldn't even recognize it. Or much of it. And that includes the professors. A great many I knew have retired -- or, unfortunately, passed away -- since I graduated, and others have changed so much over the past (mumble mumble) years that, when I saw the photo of one of my favorite profs in the recent Pioneer, I didn't even recognize him. It's been almost ten years since I've been back, and nope...not planning to attend Homecoming again this year. That weekend always seems to coincide with other plans.

Ah, you poor unfortunate. You should be like me and WORK at your almer mater. LOL In the five years since I graduated our campus has undergone some major changes as well. Seems it changes week to week. Always some sort of new construction, desctruction or complete changes in traffic patterns. *sigh* So depressing. lol
Sometimes I think I wouldn't mind working for my alma mater - except then I'd have to work in Waukesha and the only open "water" there is the Fox River, which is more of a stream where it flows through there than an actual river.
I'm thoroughly spoiled being surrounded by all of Madison's lakes and other waterways, and missed them during the school years at Carroll.
