Last week's $40 million Power Ball ticket was sold in nearby Stoughton, WI. Alas, I was not the winner, but one can always dream, right? What would you do if you won 40 million dollars?
1. Pay off all bills.
2. Renew passport.
3. Find a nice assisted living facility for Mom.
4. Rent a secluded cabin far from everyday life and people I know and sleep for at least a month. Maybe two. Okay, I might read a bit in between naps.
5. Set up small trust funds for youngest nieces and nephew.
6. Donate money to local school libraries and music programs.
7. Donate to select charities.
8. Buy an Alphasmart Neo. Wait, laptop? Nah...definitely the Neo -- it's more light weight, and long-lasting battery power means not having to worry about foreign outlets. Bzzt!
9. Travel. USA, Europe, Australia -- beginning, of course, with Norway. It's been too long....
10. Find a modest house in a nice, quiet neighborhood near water (but out of flood reach) for me.
11. Attend conferences, no matter how angsty they make me feel.
12. Invest. Traveling and all might be fun, but one must plan for the future.
13. Change name so certain family members can never locate me.

Neat. I think I would invest most of it. My bf thinks I'm insane. ;)
My TT: Why I Heart Knut
I'd buy a publishing house to produce all the quality books my cp's and Diva friends write but can't seem to get thru the NY houses!
Love it. I was going to do a lottery winning this week also. Ended up hurting my wrist and had to make it relevant. I love your last one!

I agree with you. I'd do all kinds of level headed stuff. I don't understand these people that just go crazy. Of course, maybe if it happened to us, we'd go crazy too!
Hear, Hear! :)
Travel, house, and namechange :)
and yeah, responsible stuff like make sure the kids can go to university.
But then, bring on the bling...which in my case would be books :) Great list, Heather!

ROFLO at the changing your name. Too funny.
Yeah to all of those. Too bad I don't play the lottery, huh?
Oh, loved them all. Especially the house near the lake...but above flood level. How sensible :)
It is fun to dream.
I'd travel, too.
And I'd do one totally wacko off the wall thing, but I don't know what. Maybe buy a diamond as big as a house, maybe a few hundred thousand dollar pair of shoes (with matching bag of course).
I mean with 40 million, does it really matter if you blow though 1 or 2?
That's a good list. Investing is a great idea. And traveling. MAN I want to travel again some day.
I can relate to the secluded cabin. I would take a month off somewhere ALONE. No kids, no hubby, nobody but me.
I'd start there.
Sign me up for #4 and 13!
Okay, Missy Trix! I done did it! hehehehe
Here's the Link!
Kissa~ Hope that wrist is better!
Elle~ Nah...I think it's hard to go really crazy when you're too darn sensible, lol. (But ya never really know...do you?)
Kissa, Dayna, Jana~ I'm serious. I have relatives I never see who would suddenly land on my doorstep.
Jana~ *WEG* I knew you'd cave eventually!
I'd do most of that myself! Though...I think I'd bring some writing friends along to the cabin. Sleep, eat, read, write...if it doesn't fall into those categories, it doesn't happen!
LOL, great list, especially the last one. The idea of never having to worry about money again. I couldn't imagine.
13 Favourite Heroes
Travel, buy houses by the mountains and the sea, give a lot away....
I would travel for the rest of my life. And write really bad poetry.
I'd update my wardrobe, too.
Oh, I did this topic a few weeks ago and completely forgot about trust funds. EXCELLENT idea!
Happy TT!

Isn't it fun to dream big? I think we all should do that.

Jaci~ definitely fun to dream! :)
