Thursday Thirteen #27: Autumn

Sunday is the first day of Autumn. In honor of such, here are thirteen reasons fall is my favorite season

1. Warm apple cider
2. Apple slices covered in warm caramel sauce
3. The pungent smell to the air
4. The vibrant of array of color
5. The crunch of leaves underfoot
6. Cold-weather foods: homemade chicken noodle soup, beef stew and chili
7. Football!
8. College basketball and hockey aren't far behind
9. Talking Spirits Cemetery Tour (This year's emphasis: The Civil War)
10. Wisconsin Book Festival
11. Halloween Candy
12. First good freeze equals the end of ragweed season (Achoo!)
13. Pumpkin pie

What do YOU like about autumn?

I like the smell in the air, the colourful leaves, hockey, and pumpkin pie. :-D Um, no cemetery tours for me, please! LOL

LOL Michelle ~ Would it help if I said the tour was during the day and not on Halloween? *VBG*

I like the changing colors of the leaves and the crackling sound they make when you walk on them. Oh, and the fact that the air is cool and crisp rather than freezing!!

I do love fall! I love the changing colors. Don't think that's going to be too impressive this year. It's been so dry. *sniff*

I like the fact that my birthday is in the fall. LOL!

But I do like that crisp, sweatshirt and shorts weather, too.

I LOVE Fall colors and fresh, crisp apples September brings, yummy.

Happy T13!

Great TT! Since seasons don't change that drastically in tropical islands, I'd say what I like of this season, which is about to reach its peak, is all the decoration that goes with Halloween. Heh!

I love the chill. That need for a sweater.

I'm with you! Fall is my fave season.

I actually feel sorry for people who live in places that don't get to see the spendour that we do.

I love Fall, especially right now. The haze of summer has disappeared and the sky is bluer. *sigh* can't wait for the leaves to change, although I can deal with them NOT falling off the trees, lol.

LOL! I did the same TT!

*hugs*

Love the picture of the leaves! Between you and Bria's post on Purple Hearts last week, I'm getting homesick for the change of seasons. We're actually getting rain here in Sunny SoCal this weekend. *gasp*

I did a TT similar to this one last week, and I see I forgot a few things I love. Great list. Have fun at the Wisconsin Book Festival. The South Dakota Book Festival is next week :)

WAHHHHHH! So many people are doing these, meanwhile it is STILL in the high 90s or 100s here.

Sniff sniff, lucky people. I'll laugh last when you all are complaining about the snow ;)

Happy tt! I can't wait for fall!

I love autumn: cheering my son's football team, hot cider, a return to big dinners like roasts and lasagna, the foliage, no more shorts or sunscreen... I could wax poetic for hours.

Paige~ Great minds think alike! lol

Jennifer S~ A good reason to like fall! ;)

Tempest~ It must be itneresting to see fall and winter decorations in the tropics!

Elle~ I pity them as well. There's nothing like that cool change that autumn brings. I couldn't live somewhere that didn't have seasons.

Thanks for the comment on the pic. I hope you're enjoying the rain -- we've had enough of that for a while!

Amelia~ LOL...that's what you get for living in the South! *G*

LET THE FREEZE BEGIN! (Pretty please...?)

Robin~ A fellow sufferer, I presume? ;)
