Fungi and Leaves

Decidedly more fall-like this afternoon, with a chill in the air and intermittent showers. More leaves cover the ground than a few short weeks ago--so many more, in fact, that this mushroom I nearly stepped on three weeks ago at Hoyt Park would be difficult to find today. Ahh, Autumn!

Crazy talk, isn't it! Fall is finally here, and getting soggy. hahaha

Did you kick and scuff around at the leaves on your walk in the park today. I love to do that.

Rhonda~ We've been soggy since the endless rains and flooding in August, but fall is definitely here!

Annie~ I wish this park was close enough for me to walk on a regular basis! Alas, the closest park to me isn't near as spectacular. Plenty of leaves to kick up outside my building, though! ;-)

All I can say is...

LOL! I thought I was the only one who took pictures of fungus! I went out a few weeks ago hoping to take some pics of the remaining color, but I was too late...there wasn't much left. But there were mushrooms! My husband thought I'd lost it! :)

Sally~ LOL - I guess that makes us a trio. Annie posted a huge mushroom to her blog last week:
