High Noon

Picked up HIGH NOON by Nora Roberts last night. Someone please explain to me why, after all the years I've been reading Nora, I would be so foolish as to think I could read "just one chapter" before going to bed.

Honestly, I should know better.

"Only a few pages" always becomes several chapters, and the next thing you know it's 2am, you're a third of the way through the book, and have to force yourself to put it down and get some sleep. And not just put it down, but actually get up out of bed and set it on the desk or dresser where you won't be tempted to reach for it again as you turn the bedside lamp back on. Ugh! Definitely won't be making that mistake again tonight!

(Umm...in case you haven't guessed, it's good!)

Oh boy! I would have done exactly the same thing, and suffered for it the next day as well. Nora Roberts is always the one to make me burn the midnight oil! :)

Eaton~ Yes, she's just one of a few authors that get me that way. Scottoline and Hooper are two more who always keep me up late at night.

Haven't read a Nora in years. Glad you enjoyed it, though. Even if it did deprive you of much needed sleep. That's the best kind of sleep deprivation, though. Totally worth it. ;-)
