Teaser Tuesday 21: The Games

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read.
* Open to a random page.
* Share (at least) two “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page.
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

I don't know about you, but I love the Olympics, especially the winter games and particularly the ice sports -- figure skating, hockey (mens and womens), speed skating...I love them all. In honor of Friday's Opening Ceremonies, I offer up a little teaser from Patricia McLinn's The Games.

Fate could be as cruel as people. She learned that anew in the instant she caught sight of the man staring at her. A man from another world, another time, sitting close enough now that she could see the winter night's breeze ruffling his blond hair, his too-long-remembered blue eyes piercing into her. Andrei Chersakov.

Let the Games begin.

I love watching any kinds of Olympics, but for me the Winter Olympics are something that are so completely different to what we get to see here in Australia!

My teaser is here

Jacinta ~ As much as I'd love to attend an Olympics, I admit to having had enough of snow and ice this winter. Sigh...we're supposed to get snow all week.

Marg ~ LOL - I think one of the things I like about the winter games is that these are sports we grew up with here in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin. Growing up, we weren't allowed (and didn't want) to sit around playing video games all day. We were out sledding and ice skating as much as possible.

Sassy ~ Thank you - although it's not fantasy, but romance.

Nikola ~ Definitely true. I think that's why I chose this passage, lol.

Dana ~ What's not to love? I think the great thing about the Olympics, other than the way they bring people together, is that there is pretty much something for everyone.

Lori ~ Thank you, thanks for visiting!

Jennifer ~ Hehe...He is one of the more intriguing characters. *g*

Kaye ~ Yay! Another skating fan! And I've been saving this teaser for the Olympics on purpose. *VBG*

Alayne ~ Yup, they start this weekend. Viva Olympics!

Yay, Olympics! I'm in the hosting city, and even thought there has been Olympic-ness everywhere for a while, I'm just getting excited about them now :)

And to the above comments - these would be the perfect Winter Olympics to attend as it is neither freezing nor do we have snow lol!

Oh, and great teaser ;)

This sounds intriguing!

Lisa ~ I like a few of the summer events, but not as much as the winter sports.

Missy ~ Thank you!

Lisa-Marie ~ Thank you. As you can tell, I too am looking forward to the Olympics. *g*

Alita ~ Lucky you, living in a host city! I was hoping Chicago would win the bid for the summer games last summer, as my county was partnering with Chi-Town to host the cycling events. So close! I heard about your dearth of snow. I think the east coast would be more than happy to share theirs. LOL

Stephanie ~ Thank you, and thanks for visiting!
