This week's movie topic is all about Best Couples...
A couple of weeks ago we talked about Sidekicks. Those pairings in the movies that worked so well to entertain us. This week we're thinking of another type of pairing -- couples in films that left their mark because of their romantic tension, sqaubbling or love connection. Share on your blog couples in film who left their impression on you, linking back at The Bumbles. And don't forget to visit your fellow participants!
A few of my picks:
* Annie Reed and Sam Baldwin -- Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
* Kathleen Kelly and Joe Fox -- You've Got Mail (1998)
* Lucy Moderatz and Jack Callaghan -- While You Were Sleeping (1995)
* Sally Albright and Harry Burns -- When Harry Met Sally (1989)
* Elizabeth Bennettt and Mr. Darcy -- Pride & Prejudice (2005)

sleepless in seattle is one of my fave movie... seems like i have endless list of favorite movies...lol
I think everybody will probably have Pride and Prejudice--I love sleepless in Seattle too.
Lulu: Endless lists of favorites...I know the feeling! LOL
Kaye: Actually, I only saw it on our two blogs so far. But then, we both know we have good taste! *vbg*
I also picked Darcy and Lizzie! So many to choose from! here's my list: http://gofita.blogspot.com/2010/04/monday-movie-meme-5-word-movie-reviews.html
Ah - the Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan connections. They were a great team. Sleepless in Seattle had them together very little on screen - but the romantic storyline in the process of them getting there is so sweet.
Heather: Yay, another vote for Lizzie and Darcy! *g*
Molly: Yes, Joe vs the Volcano not withstanding, Hanks and Ryan have made some great movies together. Heck, they've made some great films in general!
I loved While You Were Sleeping. You know those two belong together, but could not have made the connection any other way. He would simply have kept blowing right past her.
I love When Harry Met Sally. I have that one on Video. I used to watch it once in awhile, haven't seen it lately though.
Alice: Yes, that's what I love about that storyline - two people living on opposite sides of the contitent, and how they eventually come together. Sigh...Now I'm wanting to pop that one in the DVD player.
Sue: Same here! It's another I may have to watch again soon!
I love Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks in all 3 of their films together, especially Sleepless in Seattle which is an essential romantic movie.
Did you know they both appear in Ithaca which completed filming earlier this year. Tantalisingly it hasn’t been revealed whether or not they share a scene. Keep your fingers crossed.
