Teaser Tuesday 29: Mad, Bad and Blonde

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read.
* Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere in the book.
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away. You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

This was a fun read, and I'm not just saying that because I know the author. Cathie's romances always mean a good few hours of escape, and often include hunky men like "former" marine Caine Hunter. Lucky heroine, LOL!

"Why are there beds behind her?" Aunt Lorraine shouted in the background. "I told you I wondered what kind of work she was really doing in Las Vegas. Prostitution is legal there. Tell her it's not legal here in Chicago. Make sure she knows that."

(pg 57)

BOOK BLURB:
After being jilted at the altar, librarian Faith West goes on her Italian honeymoon solo, but doesn't stay that way too long. And though her sexy rebound man, former marine Caine Hunter, has ulterior motives, feelings surface that neither of them are prepared for.

Jennifer: If you like contemporary romance with a bit of humor, you might like it, but probably not a book for everyone.

Laurel-Rain: It was a fun read, and I too love the cover.

Brooke: Definitely some funny scenes. Mounds martinis played a big role in one of them, LOL.

Pussreboots: Thank you! *big grin* Not being big on math, your title has me worried. lol

Barbara: Isn't it just? I think it both fun and sexy.

Clarissa: Thanks, I was trying for a fun one this week. :)

Audrey: I've been reading Cathie's books for years and I don't think I have ever been disappointed. I hope you will give her a try!

Definitely a teaser. I do like contemporary romance when I actually read it, just that I rarely pick em up by choice. Here's my teaser http://yesshereads.blogspot.com/2010/04/helloooo-its-another-teaser-tuesday.html

I really need to expand my contemporary romance boundaries a bit, but humour either really works or not all!

My teaser is here

Oh Aunt Lorraine sounds like a hoot. Love the teaser.

Sounds like pure escapism and fun reading to me! Glad you enjoyed it.
Mine is from The Seventh Witch and can be found here

As my father would tell you, there is no such thing as a "former" Marine. You never really leave The Corps - but the book sounds like fun!

My medical teaser is here.

Heather said...

Olusola: I hope you will give this one a chance. Thanks for visiting!

Beth, Book Dilettante: Thank you, this paragraph certainly had me laughing!

Marg: Agreed. There is also the fact that people like different types of humor, so what works for one person may not be for someone else. This one certainly worked for me!

Jan: For a tertiary character, Aunt Lorraine was quite the hoot!

Kaye: Escapism at its best - which always helps pass a windy and rainy weekend! *g*

Lisa: I have heard that, too (mostly from Gibbs on NCIS, LOL), but it is how Caine is described throughout the book.

Okay this book is one I really need to read. First because I live in Chicago, and that is totally something my grandma would say. And two, it's about a jilted librarian! Sounds like my kinda book. Onto the TBR pile it goes.

If you have a chance feel free to check out my teaser at Find the Time to Read

Thanks to everyone who visited and commented yesterday. I am sorry I did not get round to visit all of you, but we have had severe storms rolling through since Monday afternoon, which made getting online yesterday difficult. Will try to visit as many people as I can today!
