Alice: Yup, the farmers have definitely been busy this month.

Savannah: Autumn is my favorite time of the year. Well...at least until the snow starts to fly. *g*

These are charming photos. I wonder what's the taste of wild grapes... I love the rain-kissed leaves and the old gravestone.

Heather said...

Hazel: Thank you! Sorry to say, but I have not sampled the wild grapes, though they are free for the picking. They grow along fences, roadsides and forest edges, winding up whatever trees are in the vicinity. So, while I was able to zoom in on these, I could not actually reach them.

I also know that they are smaller and taste different from cultivated grapes. They're described as tart, sour or bitter if eaten right off the vine, but excellent when used in cooking (such as in jams or jellies).

And some people continue to ask me why this is my favorite season... Don't they look around and see stuff like this???

Thanks for sharing all of these shots. Lovely!

Love the old gravestone. One of my favorite things to do is travel in the graveyards that pepper the country in New Hampshire. I find it fascinating.

Good post!

Jennifer Leeland said...

Soooo pretty! I love the contrasting colors and the bright orange pumpkins. Gorgeous.

These pictures remind me of how beautiful and romantic Autumn is. I especially like the grapes and the rain-kissed leaves.

Heather said...

Darla: Thanks, I'm glad you liked! *g*

Harriet: Thank you. It's so hard not to take leaf pics this time of year, but equally difficult to get something a little bit different and beautiful. *g*

Paige: Ah, a vote for the pumpkins. Glad you like them!

Tatiana: Isn't it a romantic time of year? The rain-kissed leaves are one of my personal faves.

What a great TT post. I love it.

Have a terrific TT and Happy Halloween to you too. :)

Heather said...

Holly: Thank you!

Maddy: Why, thank you! *VBG*

Colleen: I didn't include apples since I'd already posted several pics of them last month. *g*

STUFF: Indeed I do! In fact, I bundled up and went for a walk in the Arb this afternoon. Wind wasn't too bad once I got under the shelter of trees, though it was a bit eerie listening to them creak above.

Sandee; Thanks, I'm glad so many seem to like this one. :)
