It's National American Teddy Bear Day
Their fur may be tattered and worn...
Their ribbons and bows a bit faded...
But have you hugged your teddy bear today?

My thoughts in words and pictures...

I like teddy bears, but I don't have one to hug. I don't suppose hubby would like being included in that category. *grin*
Hey, at least you're bears still have their ribbons and bows. Ours lose them almost immediately. The Boy still sleeps with one.
Shelley: I dunno...if it involves cuddling he might not mind too much. ;)
Alice: Aww...ain't he cute. I don't think you're ever too old for teddy bears. My sorority mascot is the teddy bear, so I had about 20 of them by end of college. Someone's cat took out a couple of them, a few others were given away.
I hadn't realized how much the ribbons on these bears had faded until I took the pictures. The one ribbon in the back used to be dark blue, and now is a sort of sickly purple. The bear in front had ribbons of light blue, dark blue and yellow--the light blue now looks pinkish-white.
Must have been getting some sunlight.
Not really. I think it's just age. I've had them for, um... a "couple" of years. ;)
Awe, I guess I need to dig mine out of the closet and show it some love. lol
Gasp! What did your bear do that you locked him up in prison?
I love this post. I didn't know it was Teddy Bear Day. Should have had a teddy bear picnic.
Well, I kinda put him up last year when Heat Pump Hottie was working on installing my heat pump. (Remember him? *drools*) HPH had to go in my bedroom several times to check vent flow and stuff and, well...I figured seeing a well loved teddy bear propped on my bed wouldn't exactly scream "Come to Mama" so I shoved bear in the closet and forgot about him.
Plus, the guy who gave bear to me (back in 1990! lol) got married last year so I figured it was time to stop sleeping with bear. hehehehe
Okay, how much of that was TMI? LOL
