FINISHED MONDAY EVENING. This was a good, fun mystery, even if I did know whodunnit a hundred pages in (it's a 325-pager). It was the perfect read for Halloween weekend.
John Fogarty of CCR was warning me not to go out tonight as I reached down to get the [putty] knife from the floor. Then I heard something from above me, and I looked up just in time to see the bucket of compound slide itself off the top step of the ladder.
And fall directly toward my head.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Night of the Living Deed by E.J. Copperman
Genre: Cozy mystery
Newly divorced Alison Kerby wants a second chance for herself and her nine-year-old daughter. She's returned to her hometown on the Jersey Shore to transform a Victorian fixer-upper into a charming--and profitable--guest house. One small problem: the house is haunted, and the two ghosts insist Alison must find out who killed them.

From the Shadows
This is weird. My comment from yesterday isn't here. Now I can't remember what I said. Something about not what I expected, I think. I've been watching Zombie movies.
Oh, I love stories (with mysteries) in old houses...so cozy, yet scary.
Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
EJ: Thanks, I really liked your teaser, too!
Alice: Ack! I thought it a bit strange that I had comments on other posts from you, but not this one. Curious...
Oh, and I don't do zombies. Ugh!
Laurel-Rain: Any mystery involving an old house is bound to be good, be it cozy or gothic. *g*
