The wood is all flicker and murmur and illusion. Its silence is a pointillist conspiracy of a million tiny noises--rustles, flurries, nameless truncated shrieks; its emptiness teems with secret life, scurrying just beyond the corner of your eye.

Both pictures, the photo and that painted by the quote, are lovely. Thank you :-) Do have a good weekend.
I want to grab a blanket, a pillow and a good book and get lost in those woods. Looks so peaceful. But I'd need to remember the bug spray, for sure. ;-)
Excellent shot, Trix!
Jana: Yes, you would defintely need bug spray right now. That's the one thing I hate about walking in the Arboretum this time of year.
(And thanks! *g*)
Nice. I like hiking in that kind of wood, even with the mosquitoes.
I need to remember to wear long sleeves if I go on the next guided walk--I have a couple long scratches on my right arm from yesterday where a blackberry bramble attacked me. Better the arm than the face, though.
