Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current book or recent read.
* Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere in the book.
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away. You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!
With only weeks before the last movie is out in theaters, I decided it was time to buckle down and finish reading the final three books in the series. So, I spent the past weekend and a few hours tonight (Monday) reading book five, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Only 60 more pages to go....
This paragraph is from near the very end of the book/movie.
About the Book:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Book five)
By JK Rowling
There is a door at the end of a silent corridor, and it's haunting Harry Potter's dreams. Why else would he be waking in the middle of the night, screaming in terror?
Here are just a few of the things on Harry's mind:
• A Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with a personality like poisoned honey
• A venomous, disgruntled house-elf
• Ron as Keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch team
• The looming terror of the end-of-term Ordinary Wizarding Level (O.W.L.) exams
. . . and of course, the growing threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
In the richest installment yet of J.K. Rowling's seven-part story, Harry Potter is faced with the unreliability of the very government of the magical world and the impotence of the authorities at Hogwarts.
Despite this (or perhaps because of it), he finds depth and strength in his friends, beyond what even he knew; boundless loyalty; and unbearable sacrifice.
Though thick runs the plot (as well as the spine), readers will race through these pages and leave Hogwarts, like Harry, wishing only for the next train back.

Five curses flew in five different directions and the shelves opposite them exploded as they hit. The towering structure swayed as a hundred glass spheres burst apart, pearly-white figures unfurled into the air and floated there, their voices echoing from who knew what long-dead past amid the torrent of crashing glass and splintered wood now raining down upon the floor—
"RUN!"

I think I have the last three books in the series left to read! Should get onto that at some stage.
Thanks for visiting my teaser this week.
Jennifer: Agreed! *g*
Marg: No time like the present! Don't think I will finish the last 60 or so pages of this one tonight, it now being after midnight, but definitely Tuesday. And then, on to book six! *vbg*
Cool - who doesn't like Harry Potter... nice teaser.
Here's mine: http://tfwalsh.wordpress.com/2011/06/21/teaser-tuesday-say-cheese-medusa/
Great teaser! I've really enjoyed each of the movies (although I'm a bit behind on watching one or two of them), but sadly, while I've got the books on my bookshelf, I haven't read them - can you believe that??
Here's my Teaser from The American Heiress! ~ Wendi :)

Here’s My Teaser
I have never read any of the Harry Potter books, they are not my cup of tea. Happy Reading.
Thanks for visiting my TT post today.
Oh, this is, hands down, my favorite of the seven. Thanks for the passage this morning!
Excellent teaser! You can't go wrong with some Harry Potter! Enjoy reading the last few books - I may re-reading them again before the film :)
Great teaser! I saw the trailer for the new HP film this week, was also thinking of doing a reread!

Lol, I don't currently have my Kindle with me at the moment
Tania: I actually do have one friend who refuses to read the books or watch the movies on basis of religion, but then have another ultra-religious friend who loves them for the way they got kids interested in reading again.
Wendi: I came late to the books as well, did not read the first couple until after I'd seen the first four or five movies several times. While I usually prefer to read the book before seeing the movie, I've actually enjoyed the reverse with these. It's been interesting seeing what the screenwriters chose to leave out.
IMO, the story is stronger for much of the stuff left out of the movies. There were a couple scenes in this book I would have liked to see in the movie, but for the most part the movie is a most satisfying rendering.
Jules: Thank you, it is a good series.
BookGirl: Thanks, and thank you for visiting!
Kyanara: Agree, can't help loving this series of books. I enjoy seeing how the characters develop as they grow up. Not just Harry, Ron and Hermione, but also Neville, Ginny, and some fo the other characters.
Thanks, Shelley!
Gigi Ann: S'okay, people like different genres. I must say, though, I didn't think I would like the books when friends first started reading them, but find each one to be a fairly fast and fun read.
Pam: Glad you liked today's teaser. While I felt this one could have benefitted from a bit of paring down (hello! it's almost 900 pages!), it was another enjoyable adventure.
Amy: Thank you, I look forward to reading books six and seven. I ended up finishing this one last night (er, early this morning?) before going to bed, and while I can't wait to dive into the next, I felt a slightly shorter (not to mention lighter) book might be in order first. Have no fear, though, I shall be back at Hogwarts by the weekend. *VBG*
Under the Covers: Oh, I have not seen the trailer yet. Might have to hop on over to YouTube and check it out!
Excellent choice! That's a great teaser.
My teaser is here.

TBM: The last Harry Potter is one of two movies I am looking forward to this summer, the second being Cowboys and Aliens.
Cela: LOL...feeling in the mood for a reread? *g*
Thanks, Lisa! It was hard to choose just one scene from this book.
Jen: Thanks, and happy first day of Summer to you as well!

What a wonderful teaser! Wanna know more!
Here is my Teaser Tuesday: The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger post!
Well it's about time you got back to this. On to the sixth yet?
Alice: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Knew you'd nag about it, LOL. Haven't started book six yet. I started a much shorter (and lighter in weight if not in tone) book Tuesday, and am only about half way through that one right now. Want to get it done so I can start the next Harry Potter over the weekend.
