The journal so inviting until you open it a see a blank page, i'm so much more likely to write on a notepad or blank page. Though when I was much younger I'd filled a couple with poetry, but that was before my computer and keyboard. Hope you fill every last page of yours!
Sukhmandir: I do tend to fill every page of my journals, and have filled an entire storage bin over the decades. Some days it is no more than a page, and others are several pages long. It all depends on the mood!
How wonderful. I love journals. I love paper and pens. While I appreciate the speed with which I can type, I still prefer writing with pen and paper most of the time. Happy WW!
I have a lot of "nice" journals that sit with nothing written in them, but many $0.99 notebooks that are full. I would hate to think how much paper it would take if I printed everything I do on the computer out.
Dianne: I too love journals, one of my biggest weaknesses. I sometimes find it easier to get thoughts out on paper than by typing.
Liz: Thank you! :)
Shelley: There are times I've written so much that ny wrist does start to hurt. I've found, though, that it helps to put a thin paperback book under one side of journals that don't lie quite flat, bottom sticking out to support hand/wrist near end of the page.
artangel: Secrets and then some! I often copy in quotes I like, or paste in song lyrics or short articles of interest. *WG*
Anita: I have a few spiral notebooks that have been used as writing journals over the years, but I primarily favor spiral-bound journals. Unfortunately, last time I needed a new one, the closest bookstore did not have one that suited me at a reasonable price, but they had a two-pack of these at a bargain price, so I decided it wouldn't hurt to switch it up a bit.
Since starting this second one, though, I have been on the prowl for another spiral-bound before I actually need it.
I have a few handwritten journals--one of them an old scraggly school folder that I carried with me all through most of high school. It blended with my notebooks so I could write while I was supposed to be learning.
I'm currently keeping a couple of different handwritten journals though I admit I'm not as good at keeping up with them as I used to. Guess I don't have as much angst these days. ;-)
Jana: What really got me into the hbit of keeping a journal was when we had to keep one for a HS English class. I used a regular notebook then which, as you pointed out, blended in well with my course notebooks. And, I confess, there may have occasionally been some writing in them during classes.
Do you think blogging has affected the way you keep up with handwritten journaling? I sometimes experience that difficulty after writng about something online or in email. Often I will simply print those emails/posts out to add to my journal later. I do that with a lot of my Thursday Thirteen posts, too.
And thanks for noticing the new pic. I was wondering last night if anyone would take note, or how long it would take for people to do so. Less than 24 hours--not bad! ;)
Nah, I understand the "cautious" bit. I find it much harder to open up online since-- Well, I think you can probably guess how far back that goes, and with obvious good reason. ;-)

Great shot!
My entries:

The impulse is to pick up the pen and open the journal on seeing the photo. I don't do much handwriting these days because it hurts my wrist too much.
That looks all ready to write your deepest secrets in :)

BTW, love the new profile pic! You look so sweet! :)

I definitely think blogging has affected the way I journal. But my blogging seems to have the same positive effect on me that journaling always has.
On the flip side, I think I'm a lot more cautious in what I blog about these days than I used to be. And definitely more than I am when I journal.
Bet you're thinking, "Cautious where?" ;-)
