Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current book or recent read.
* Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere in the book.
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away. You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!
Over the weekend I finished Moon Called by Patricia Briggs, the first in her Mercy Thompson series, and started book two, Blood Bound. If you like shifters, weres and vampires, this may be a series for you. Since I missed last week, I thought I'd go for a Teaser Double Feature this week.
I shifted as fast as I could. It might have been safer to go as a human, but I didn’t have the right kind of clothing on for a winter hike in Montana. I’ve not absolutely sure there is a right kind of clothing for a winter hike in Montana.
Moon Called, pg 77)
~*~*~*~*~*~
"I don’t like lies," said Bran, and I knew I’d failed to keep the pain of his revelation from my face. "Not even lies of omission. Hard truths can be dealt with, triumphed over, but lies will destroy your soul."
(Moon Called, pg 95)
He snarled at me, his fangs showing, and I snarled back. I don’t remember seeing him move, just the momentary feeling of his hands on my sides, a brief moment while I was hurled through the air and then nothing.
(Blood Bound, pg 18)
~*~*~*~*~*~
It was a testimony to how shaken up I was that I got to my feet and headed home with the intention of asking one werewolf, who had made it plain that he was only waiting to make his move on me, about the way another werewolf had made me desire him. I’m not usually that dumb.
(Blood Bound, pg 93)

ABOUT THE MERCY THOMPSON SERIES:
Werewolves can be dangerous if you get in their way, but they'll leave you alone if you are careful. They are very good at hiding their natures from the human population, but I'm not human. I know them when I meet them, and they know me, too.
Mercy Thompson's sexy next-door neighbor is a werewolf.
She's tinkering with a VW bus at her mechanic shop that happens to belong to a vampire.
But then, Mercy Thompson is not exactly normal herself . . . and her connection to the world of things that go bump in the night is about to get her into a whole lot of trouble.
~*~*~*~*~
Mercedes is a Volkswagen mechanic living in the Tri-Cities area of Washington. Her Native American heritage has gifted her with the ability to take the form of a coyote at will. She's surrounded by far more powerful supernatural beings, including werewolves, vampires and an assortment of fae. There are currently six novels in this series, and three in the related "Alpha & Omega" series.

excellent teasers! I love the mercy thompson series, but it's been a long time since I've read the first few books, your teasers make me want to re-read them! Happy reading, Book Savvy Babe’s TT
I've heard great things about Patricia Briggs, although I've never read anything of hers.
Great teasers! I definitely want to pick up one of her books now!

Book Savvy: Hi there! I have heard of Patricia Briggs for years, but it was only recently that a friend and I finally picked up some of her books. As you can probably tell, we are enjoying them.
Jac: Welcome! I'm happy to have intrigued you with my teasers. *G*
Hi Mariann! It seems that a great many people enjoy this series. A friend and I have been collecting all the books in this series and Alpha & Omega that we can find. So far, we are only missing two or three. I have a feeling I am going to be up late again tonight reading Blood Bound -- though not late enough to finish it, lol. Must. Have. Sleep. *g*
I liked all four of your teasers! Lots of action, lots of humor, and they sound like books I'd enjoy.
Mine this week is from Table for Five by Susan Wiggs.
Awesome teasers. I really need to pull this series out of the reading pile and devour it. Great teasers.

Interesting teasers! My teaser comes from the Inspector Grant series by Josephine Tey.
Great tease! I love Mercy & Adam! They are so cute and strong together. I love Samuel to!
My TT

These teasers have definitely piqued my interest. I'm not usually a reader of werewolves, etc., but I can make an exception!
Thanks for sharing.
Here's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
Sandy: Thank you! There is definitely a lot of action and humor in this series. There are some scenes that have had me laughing out loud--always a good thing when riding a bus. It helps keep the crazies away. *g*
Jennifer:Yes! pull those books out of the TBR pile and start reading -- I promise you won't regret it!
Shelley: Yes, Mercy is indeed a great character, a strong female lead. Come to think of it, this is probably another series I saw mentioned on your blog, lol.
Thanks, Tania! I am enjoying the series so far.
Jennifer M: Yes, I love Mercy and Adam as well -- and so many other characters, too.
Suzanne: If you like vamps and werewolves and strong female leads, definitely give this series a try!
Beth F: Hehe...glad to encourage you to seek out more books in the series. I'm really liking Adam in book two. *VBG*
Thanks, Jessica, and thanks for stopping by. Will definitely pop over to read yours later!
CM Brown: I like what Bran says about lies and truth. He can be quite profound...for a werewolf. :)
Laurel-Rain: I feel honored that I have interested you in this series. The first two books have been quite good. Alas, my friend forgot to bring books 3 and 4 with her Saturday, so I must finish off the end fo this week with something else. Cruel, I tell you! ;)
Yes, there is indeed a right kind of clothing for a winter hike in Montana. It's the same outfit you wear for a winter hike in Wisconsin. Really, some authors. :)
Hey, I'm glad you're able to post again.
Alice: ROFL... I assume you mean a "typical" Wisconsin winter, not the Winter That Wasn't -- there were some days this past winter that were down right balmy. Well, in comparison to last year anyway. *G*
I am slowly figuring out blogger's new photo uploader. It would help if they actually said what some functions were for. By happy chance I discovered last night that if I switch from "compose" mode to "html" I can use the old photo loader -- which I prefer, as it gives me all four alignment options, including the one I need for my "recently read" posts.
Plus, the old one opens and loads faster and in a separate window, not over the existing one, which is one of the things that annoys the crap out of me with the new format.
Those were some very intense teasers!
Here's my TT and a giveaway:

I like this author but I haven't read many books in this series yet. I really need to get back to it. So many books to read, so little time! Great teaser! Enjoy!!
CollettaKay: Thank you, and thanks for visiting!
Wrighty: Definitely not enough hours in the day/week/year for all the books we want to read!
