I spent the better part of a stormy weekend curled up with (and finishing) a suspense by Tami Hoag , Deeper Than the Dead (Oak Knoll #1). Definitely fit the heavy mood set by the weather! Though I guessed who the killer was very early on, I enjoyed the chase to catch him and will certainly be seeking out the next two books in this series. My teaser comes from end of the second chapter:
SlowlyTommy pushed himself up on his hands and knees. The ground he was on had been turned over recently. It smelled like earth and wet leaves, and something else he couldn’t name. It was soft and damp and crumbly like someone had dug it up with a shovel. Like someone had buried something . . . or somebody. His heart jumped into the back of his throat as he raised his head . . . and came face-to-face with death.

GREAT teaser! What a cliffhanger! I've got to read this book.
My teaser is from Deadly Pleasures.
Holy smokes! That is an awesome and tense teaser! Mine is here - http://lostinsidethecovers.wordpress.com/2012/05/08/teaser-tuesday-may-8/
Sandy: Thanks, glad you liked. This was my first Tami Hoag and certainly won't be the last.
Lost: Thank you, and thanks for visiting! :)
Ohh I really like this teaser.. will have to check out the book. Haven't read anything from her.
Here's mine: http://tfwalsh.wordpress.com/2012/05/08/teaser-tuesday-graceling/
Tania: If you like suspense a la Kay Hooper, Iris Johansen, Karen Rose, Lisa Gardner, etc., then you will definitely want to give Hoag a try. I have been wanting to pick up some of her books for ages, and now wonder why I waited so long (and how I am ever going to catch up with her backlist, lol).
Nice teaser! I do like Tami Hoag's books.
Here's My Teaser
Gulp!! Good one! Here's my teaser
Well that's creepy. I have this one. Clearly I need to read it.
I enjoyed this one and the follow-up Down The Darkest Road.
Very intense! I haven't read this author in awhile, but she's on my list to read again.
Thanks for sharing...and here's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
Thanks, Shelley. I can see myself becoming a huge fan of Tami Hoag myself.
Beth F: Hehe...thank you. *g*
Jessica: Trust me, there is a whole lot more creepy in this one, but it certainly kept me up late Friday and Saturday nights turning the pages.
Nise': Down the Darkest Road is the third book, isn't it? In any case, I have that and Secrets to the Grave on my TBB list.
Laurel-Rain: It was an intense read, but also a good, fast one. Will definitely be reading more of this author!
Sounds really good, great teaser.

Tribute: It was really good, thanks! :)
sounds scary! great teaser today. kaye—the road goes ever ever on
Very intense, I am curious what he saw. Great teaser.
I figured it out early too, then thought maybe I'd guessed wrong in a couple of places.
Love your choice of books :)
Kaye: You know, I can handle reading about creepy serial killers and stalkers, but I can't read horror. Funny, isn't it?
Janet Ruth: It was pretty intense in places, but that just had me turning the pages all the faster. *g*
Alice: I thought you might approve of this week's choice. *VBG* Hoag did an excellent job of lacing in a few red herrings designed to make people second guess what was going on. And the mark of a good book: you becoem so caught up in the lives of the characters that you want to know what happened to them after the book ended.
Thank you for stopping by our blog and leaving a comment. I hope you'll come back tomorrow, read our interview with Mary Firmin, and leave a comment for a chance to win a copy of her book, Deadly Pleasures.
