Obviously a sentiment placed on the capital when better men were in charge.

Jana: Thank you! Next tiem I'm uptown I'll have to get pics of the statues over the other three main entrances. ;-)

Wonderful lighting. Last time I was there it rained the whole time. Never got in a single decent shot.

Alice: Thank you. Sorry it rained so much the week you were here. We sure could use more of that this summer.

I confess, I was on my way inside the Capitol during intermission of Concerts on the Square when I saw someone else standing back a-ways taking pics of these statues from a front and central vantage point. I looked up and the angle from where I stood was too good to pass up. So glad I'd thought to pocket my camera before heading inside to use the facilities. ,-)

Colleen: Thank you. As I told Alice, the angle was inspired from looking up at what a tourist was photographing. It was just before 8pm, and the setting sun cast a lovely glow over the stutues from my vantage point. I only wish I'd had time to photograph those above other entrances. Another day...

I got myself a cell phone with a camera (yes, the dreaded TracFone) so that I would always be able to catch shots like that. Then it turned out the camera isn't good enough to make it worth taking them.

Sorry to hear that about the TracFone, and still think that entire situation blows.
