Thursday Thirteen 275: Recently Viewed

Thirteen movies/series viewed over the last two months . . .

I had to do this differently than originally tended and it took me freakin' forever to do it thanks to Blogger NOT co-operating.  I absolutely HATE, DESPISE AND ABOMINATE their "new" image uploader.  As of Tuesday night I was able to bypass it by composing in "html" instead of "compose" and use the old uploader, which was tons better IMO, but it would only let me use the new uploader last night and this morning.

Hey Blogger?  Do not assume you know how I want to upload photos and in which particular order.  I expect images to load in the order I choose, not the order you choose.  Also?  What do you have against poor Bolt that you refused to upload that image?  I swear it took me twenty tries before it finally loaded.  A couple of times it tried to load it in the middle of code for one of the other images, which meant I had to scrap everything and start over, not being able to tell where the one code ended and next began.  And then it would load all but Bolt again.  Argh!

Anyway, this is what I've watched during the past several freezing cold weekends, most recent first. Some of these I had seen before while half were new to me.  And no, you are not imagining thingsthere are no movies here from 2012 or 2013.  I rarely get to see anything in theaters these days, and so far have only seen one Oscar-nominated movie (and not one of the best picture noms, either).  Click on any image to find out more about the movie.

Oy vey. Blogger has a new image uploader? *sob* I haven't posted any images in a couple of weeks so I haven't noticed. I hate it when Blogger "upgrades." It usually means mountains of frustration for a while. *sigh*

And...now Imma hafta pull out my copy of While You Were Sleeping. Haven't watched it in ages but always enjoy it when I do. :)

I loved Bolt so much after seeing it on the flight to the US, I convinced my hubby to buy it here in Italy. I love Mittens!

Happy TT to you! :)

Jana: Relax. By "new" I mean within the past year. I hated it from the very beginning, but found that by uploading images in html mode rather than compse, I could still use the "old" system.

My biggest issue with the "new" is that it does NOT keep images in the order you load them. I had to copy and paste codes to put them back in the order I wanted them. When I tried to add one it refused to load, it then loaded it inside the code for another image, forcing me to scrap everything and start over. Then it refused to load that one movie. And it was always BOLT it refused to load.

Also, they assume you want images loaded either left, right, or center -- "none" does not come up as a positioning option as it did in the old uploader. When it finally loaded BOLT, I had to remove positioning code to get it to load where and how I wanted it. TOO. MUCH. TROUBLE!

Kimberly: It was a cute movie, and I think I liked Mittens more than Bolt myself, lol. But then--we're CAT people. *G*

Sandyland: Thank you, and thanks for visiting.

These techies can't leave anything alone, can they? Enjoyed the list - some good films there.

Heather said...

Anthony: No, those darn techies always have to be meddling with something--and it's never the stuff that actually needs fixing that are replaced, only the apps that already work just fine.

As for the list, though A Thousand Clowns was a bit bizarre, and I wrote a good two pages in my journal on what was wrong with The Lightning Thief, they were all good. Obviously I enjoyed some more than others.

I've seen most of these too. I'm adding A Thousand Clowns to my to-watch list. :) Happy Valentine's Day.

Mia Celeste: If you like the quirky sort of avante-garde style of the 1960s, then you will probably like A Thousand Clowns. I came across it on ThisTV a few weeks back, just as it was starting. Definitely different.

I love Mr. monk. We have all the seasons, and The very last one they made was a great ending to the series.

Heather said...

Shelley: I'm a huge fan of Mr. Monk, too, and have all the seasons except number four. (And BTW, did you know Tony Shaloub is a Wisconsinite?)

Wordpress just got a new image loader too. I haven't tried it yet. I go with a third party, that I'm also getting fed up with.

Quite a mix. Some oldie but goodies there.

Alice: I'm glad I'm not the only one frustrated with image loaders these days.

Heather said...

Colleen: It was fun watching some of the older films I had not seen in years. Must do that more often! : )

Every time I see Monk's face it makes me smile. And BTW, I also often feel frustrated with Blogger image loading. Maybe we need a support group!

I love The Blind Side, that is a great movie.

You might try uploading in Firefox or possibly Chrome. I don't have any trouble in Firefox, but I do in Internet Explorer, same as you. I also found a few times that if I erased my history I could use the uploader better, but that is a lot of trouble. Easier just to use a different browser.

I see some of my favorite movies on your list, including While You Were Sleeping and Harry Potter. We watched Despicable Me last weekend for the umpteenth time. LOVE IT!

The Gal Herself: Monk always makes me laugh and smile. I'm glad I am not the only one who gets frustrated with that image loader!

Anita: It is indeed a great movie. As for the image upload problem, it's not a browser issue, it's a matter of someone writing a horrible image uploading program.

Paige: I liked them all, though I had major issues with The Lightning Thief. I might have enjoyed it more had I not read the book first. I can understand some changes/omissions due to time constraints, but there were some important things (and a major character in the series) left out. Not to mention that my favorite scene in the book was replaced with one that was sort of "meh".

Stephanie: I watch While You Were Sleeping at least once a year, usually around Christmas. One of my all-time favorites. *g*

I really should buy While You were Sleeping and 21 Dresses. Enjoyed the Blind Side, and I watch Harry Potter repeatedly.

Sorry you had photo uploading troubles. I haven't uploaded anything in the last 4 days so I don't know and hope I won't have to.
