Wordless Wednesday 85: Snowy Pines
Snow-covered pines, photographed during one of our first significant snowfalls of the season, on 18 December 2012. We received about three inches of snow that day, and are now at 47.8 inches for the season. That's slightly above the norm, but we are still in drought conditions from last summer. Coupled with a few rain events, this is our 6th wettest winter so far. We are adding to the snow total tonight and tomorrow.

You are paying as much attention to precipitation as I am. I am loving today's snow.
Where your focus is fur and pine cones, mine is spring buds in ice. We've had two intense ice storms here in the mountains of VA where the state doesn't know if it is north or south.
Shivery but beautiful. :-D
The snow does look lovely, as long as I don't have to drive in a slippery mess:)
Commonweeder: I'm actually beginning to weery of all the snow. We have now had just under 55 inches for the season. Granted, it's not as bad as the 101 inches recorded a few years ago, but it is above normal for our area.
Colleen: No spring buds here yet, not for another month at least. I think I'd much rather have all our heavy wet snow. While it can still bring down trees and powerlines, it's not quite as devasting as ice storms.

Diane: There are many who would agree to that sentiment. Unfortunately, a slippery mess is what we had to deal with today, as most of the 6.2 inches received the last two days was a wet, heavy snow. Yuck! Great for snowballs, not so much for driving.
