Thursday Thirteen 283: Recently Read

I didn't anticipate doing another one of these posts quite so soon, being as I was behind in my 2013 goal, but I've somehow managed to get back on track. So, without further ado, here are the most recent thirteen books I've read. As always, click on any cover to find out more about the book.

BOOK NOTES:

* TOP ROW: Night of the Living Dandelion is book eleven in the Flower Shop Mystery Series by Kate Collins. . .love this series! Frost Burned is book seven in the Mercedes Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs—I made the mistake of starting this one on a week night . . . when I had to get up for work early the next day. It was a very loooong work day.  Twice Tempted is the second in the Night Prince trilogy by Jeaniene Frost.

* ROW TWO: The Giver and Gathering Blue are books one and two respectively in Lois Lowry's Giver Quartet, a young adult series, and deserving of the many awards they have garnered between them. Mary Roberts Rinehart was the March Featured Author in the Cozy Mysteries group at GoodReads. I greatly enjoyed this vintage mystery, and hope to read more by this author soon.

* ROW THREE: Aunt Dimity Beats the Devil and Aunt Dimity: Detective are books six and seven respectively in the Aunt Dimity cozy mystery series by Nancy Atherton. I really like this series, and need to do more catching up in it. The Maggie Sefton book fit a March mini challenge and is book one in her Knitting Mystery series.

* ROW FOUR: I'd Tell You That I Love You . . . and Cross my Heart and Hope to Spy are books one and two respectively in the Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter. This is a fun YA series, and I already have book three waiting atop Mount TBR. The Julie Hyzy book fit a couple of mini challenges for the Cozy Mysteries group, and is book one in her White House Chef series.

* The First Prophet by Kay Hooper is book one in The Bishop Files, and is a spin-off of her Bishop/Special Crimes Unit series.

YOUR TURN: Tell us what you've been reading lately (and tax forms don't count!).

I'm only familiar with the Lois Lowry books, this time around. LOL!

Happy TT!

Colleen: Those were both good, though I confess--I like the Flower Shop series more than the other.

Anthony: Always! :D

Shelley: Both were really good, though I learned my lesson with Frost Burned and saved Twice Tempted for the weekend, when I didn't have to worry about working in the morning.

Kimberly: Have you read the "Giver" series then? I'm in the process of hunting down books two and three. *G*

I love the title Night of the Living Dandelion. It fits my yard.

Alice: Thankfully, though we are finally starting to see some spring bulbs come up, we have not yet seen dandelions. *g*

Anita: Busy? Little bit, lol. It's still too cold and damp here to spend much time outdoors. We've had rain every day this week!

Paige! Gasp! You've actually read something on my list! How often does that happen? *G*

Hi Mia! I'm glad to see there are a few people who have read The Giver. As for Patricia Briggs...I love both her Mercy Thompson and Alpha & Omega series. A friend and I glommed onto her books last summer. *g*

After checking this post and the one below, Aunt Dimity looks interesting. Thanks for introducing her to us!

I don't read YA but that series "I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You" sounds awesome!

Hi Jennifer! The Gallagher Girl series is as awesome as it sounds--lots of fun, too. I read book three Friday (yes, in one day!), and will be featuring book one for this week's Teaser Tuesday,
