Thursday Thirteen 288: Spring Walk

The weather is finally warming up here, and I have been able to get out for a couple long walks. Here are a few photos taken last week.

The bunnies are out in droves!

Bird feather

Green leaves! Of course, the downside to this is all the pollen in the air.

Weather-worn fence seen from bike path.

Wisconsin State Flower: Violet

Gage plum blossoms . . . I think.

Look at that sun shine through!

The wild turkeys were enjoying a nearby meadow.

White violet

Dandelions are everywhere!

Tulips of all varieties are finally coming up.

Ah, spring! We don't see many wild turkeys walking around here!

Hooray for spring!

Shelley: It may seem a bit odd to some people that city neighborhoods would have free-range wild turkeys, but such is life in Madison. Mine is one of several urban neighborhoods that sees a lot of them, due to our proximity to various nature preserves, such as the UW Arboretum.

Kelley: Indeed! ☺

All gorgeous pix, Trix! :-) I especially love the sunshine one. And the bunny one. And the...well, all of 'em!

I had a bunny on my front porch Saturday. Sadly it was there and gone before I could get my camera.

You do macro photography so much better than I do. I'm envious.

Heather said...

Martha: Yes, indeed -- though I could do without so much pollen in the air.

Thanks, Anita!

Jana: Thanks, I kind of liked that one myself. How cool that you had a bunny on your porch. Rather that than a bear, eh? *G*

Alice: Thank you. You have no idea how often I get frustrated in trying to get a macro shot, only to have the camera blur it. It can be a real excercise in patience, beleive me! ☺

Very cool pictures. I'm so happy Wisconsin is warming up and I can tell from your pictures you are too.

About time Spring arrived. Great photos.

Mia: I am glad it is warming up, though 54F to 88F in less than 48-hours was a bit much this week. Of course, that is better than the COLD temps we had Thursday through Saturday, which included three nights of frost/freeze warnings. The weather has been so crazy this year!

Glorious Springtime images.

Anthony: Thanks, and it's past time spring arrived. We've had some screwy weather this year, 80F one day and down to 40F the next. Hopefully it will even out a bit now.

Thanks, Vanessa -- and thanks for visiting!

Glad spring has come for you. I like the look of the weather-worn fence. Country girl me all the way.

Absolutely stunning, Heather!! Love these pictures.

Heather said...

Hazel: Thank you. The fence really caught my eye that day. The folliage was so dense in this area last fall, I never even knew it was there.

Heather said...

Thanks, Jennifer!

lovely. those purple things are violets then. I thought so. they're all over our lawn. I don't know where they blew in from. they weren't there last year.

Heather said...

Pearl: Yes, they are violets. There are various shades of purple, as well as white ones. I much prefer seeing them dotting the lawn than dandelions.

Oh I believe you, for sure. I have the same problem with my Etsy pictures. It's a ton harder to get a good one than to take a picture of a mountain.

Heather said...

Yes, landscapes are a lot easier to get than macros - though, as you pointed out in your post yesterday, it can be difficult to get a good one that doesn't include power lines these days.
