Just Beachy

I wish I could say that things have been "beachy" lately, but — alas — I have been sick more than a week now. I felt fine over Christmas, but woke up a week ago Friday with a sore throat, and have been coughing ever since. Yup, lucky me — it's the first cold of the season.

And how peachy that it has coincided with not one, but three, arctic blasts, each one worse than the previous. This weekend is the worst. We actually got above freezing Saturday, but the temperature started falling in the afternoon and the wind is really howling. Our actual daytime high on Monday is only to be -12. Yes, you read that correct — a negative number for our high, with windchills of 40 to 50 BELOW zero. At such extreme temps, frostbite can set in in under ten minutes. In anticipation of such dangerous windchills, schools across the state canceled Monday classes on Friday. On the bright side, at least we are not getting hammered with a foot or more snow along with these temps, as many in the northeast have/are.

To take our minds off the winter weather, I thought I'd share a couple thank you cards I made in December.

STAMPS: Just Beachy, Canvas, Sincere Salutations, Warmest Regards (all from Stampin' Up)
INK: Basic Black, Basic Brown, More Mustard, Old Olive, Ruby Red (SU)
PAPER: Darice

Awe, sorry you've been sick. Hope your cold clears up soon.

Love the cards. Some of those fish look a little violent, tho. haha

Thanks, Jana. Cold still lingering, but I am hoping it is better by the coming weekend, when we may be above freezing for a day or two. I'm tired of coughing and I've already gone through two boxes of Kleenex.

Here you were working on Thank You cards when you should have been making yourself a Get Well card.

Sheesh...what's the world coming to when I have to make my own get well card? :-p
