Thanks, Mary! It certainly feels more like summer this week. We hit 90 today for the first time this year.

Beautiful shots. We've planted lots of things that are supposed to attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds, but have seen very few butterflies this year for some reason.
Please share your photos at the new home for Wordless Wednesday (on Tuesday! This week's post is here:

Awesome captures! I love coneflowers and grow them in my garden.

We only have black swallowtails this year, so it's good to see the yellow. I did a post like this earlier in the week. Got a Wordless today.

Thanks, Indrani!

Pixiedusk: Photographing butterflies usually takes a lot of patience. This particular butterfly was so intent on his feast that he didn't seem to notice me, and I was able to take several pics of him, on a couple of different flowers.

Sue: I haven't seen that many butterflies this year, either. We had a hard winter, followed by a long, cold spring and mostly below average temps this summer, which could be affecting the population in our area. I've seen several hummingbirds this year, but they are much more difficult to photograph.

Thanks, Beth! I love the variety of coneflowers I see in my area. I would love to plant some of those and red bergamot outside my front windows when they finish tearing out some old bushes.

Hi Colleen! I've only seen a few butterflies so far this year, mostly smaller ones, and this was the first tiger swallowtail I've seen.

Thanks, Keith!

Beautiful butterfly! I wish her relatives would visit the coneflowers by my house more often.

Thanks, Kristin! I wouldn't mind seeing more of them myself. There haven't been enough butterflies this year. ☺
