Skywatch Friday 91

Photos taken during a walk on January 30, 2015 . . .

The sun was actually out on this partly cloudy day.

No snow along hill tops on this day, but that was soon to change.

Decorative post on pedestrian overpass.

Can you find the squirrel?

Bike path

Two squirrels in this photo

There was something about the curve of these trees that called to me.

I hope no one is on the bike path when this decaying branch falls.

Love the curvy trees! It looks cold, but not as cold as we've been recently. I'm trying to figure out why I'm not seeing many songbirds this year. I hear the Chickadees, and see the occasional Cardinals, but significantly fewer than most years. Not sure what's going on--maybe we have an owl or a hawk on our roof?

Nice shots.

Beth: Thank you, I'm glad someone else likes that curvy photo as much as I do. A friend of mine has also had a dearth of song birds recently. There are hawks in the area, but her front feeders have ample cover for protection (tree and bushes). I suppose it's also possible they were disturbed by a hungry raccoon or stray cat.

Thanks, Anita!

I love the stylized bicycle on the pedestrian overpass post. Looks like you still take some very nice walks.

Alice: I like those images, too, yet never paid much attention to them until recently.

As for walks...not too many, and certainly not as long as I'd like. It's been far too cold (not to mention dangerous) to be outside for too long lately. Unless, of course, you're wearing about five layers of insulated clothing.
