Skywatch Friday 96

A few scenes from last weekend . . .

Friday, March 13 -- Beautiful blue sky with wispy clouds and a temp that
was about 20 degrees (F)above normal. It was lovely sitting in
the sun at the park to read for a while.

Saturday, March 14 -- Late afternoon there were a couple of hawks
soaring overhead. Alas, they never swooped low enough for me to
get a better photo. I saw them again on Sunday.

Sunday, March 15 -- The thermometer claimed it was 61F (about 15 degrees
above normal), but between gray, cloudy skies and wicked wind gusts,
it sure didn't feel like it. This chickadee landed on the
bird feeder two feet in front of me before retreating to the crabapple.

Thanks, Mary!

Yesterday and today the Chickadees were singing their happy song. It was warm enough to rake away the leaves and find some spring flowers (Snowdrops) and other emerging plants. I'm back from Florida and happy to be home in time to experience most of the first signs of spring. :) Great photos, Heather.

Thanks, and welcome home, Beth! I saw snowdrops and crocus yesterday at Olbrich. So happy to see spring flowers! ☺

My smart phone keeps telling me is sunny, but that doesn't match the sky. We're running about the same as you.

Alice: The snow stopped before noon, but we are currently mostly cloudy and 31 (19 WC) -- a LOT colder than we were this time last Monday. We lucked out here, with only a couple of inches of snow, while Fennimore measured 14 inches. There were a number of school closings and delays this morning. Showers and thunderstorms are predicted for a couple days this week.
