Thursday Thirteen 276: Spring at the Arboretum

Spring is starting to make its presence known at the UW Arboretum. I attended Sunday's guided "Effigy Mounds" walk, and though a bit blustery, it was a gorgeous day.

Trees and bushes are starting to leaf.

Woodland wildflowers are starting to come up

Look at that beautiful sky!

Mr Mallard kept watch while the missus ate

She was really hungry!

Forsythia

Lilacs are budding

The magnolia are starting to bloom

I think you can see the wind ruffling petals in this shot

Like a breath of fresh air. Everything is coming to live. My favorites are the pink!

Because of you and posts like this I went walking around my neighborhood looking for flowers. I found enough for a Thursday list, but have yet to learn how to move them off my camera to my blog.

Colleen: The magnolias were an unexpected surprise. I'm making a note to get back over there by end of the month.

Alice: Hehehe... Glad I induced you to get out and get some steps in. *WEG*

Hey! I'll have you know I walk almost every day. It's part of my diet program.

Nice shots. I am glad spring is finally making it to your part of the world. It was a rough winter.

I was at the Arb yesterday, too. The Longnecker Garden is looking spectacular right now, and then soon the crabapples will be blooming... sigh. Very nice post, Heather!

Thanks, Anita! It was a rough winter. After a warm weekend, it's cold and rainy here today.

Forgetfulone: Thanks, I love that boardwalk, and you should have heard the cacophony of frogs in that area. Talk about loud!

Paige: Thank you! ☺

Beth: Isn't Longenecker starting to look spectacular? I love visiting there this time of year.

Novroz: Thank you, it was a pretty spectacular sky -- I just wish it hadn't been quite so windy. It made photographing flowers a bit tricky. *G*

LOVE the duck. It's all so pretty, though.

Jana: The male or the female duck? Or both? It really is a pretty time of year for visiting the Arboretum.
